Aykut Enişte 2 is a 2021 Turkish comedy film directed by Onur Bilgetay and written by Cem Gelinoğlu, Giray Altınok and Muammer Tali. It is the sequel to the 2019 film Aykut Enişte, continuing the story of the main character Aykut through the lens of family ties and the process of marriage.

Plot

The film’s narrative centers around Aykut and Gülşah’s upcoming wedding. As Aykut prepares for marriage, he is confronted with a complex situation as long-buried family secrets and past relationships resurface. The sudden reappearance of his former brother-in-law Talat disrupts the family’s equilibrium. These developments in Aykut’s life clash with his good intentions and traditional nature, pushing events into increasingly uncontrollable territory.

Production Process

The film was produced by BKM Film and distributed by CJ ENM. Shooting took place in various neighborhoods across Istanbul. The project’s development was shaped by the return of the original film’s creative team, Cem Gelinoğlu and Giray Altınok, to the screenplay. This time, Muammer Tali joined the writing team. The production preserved its creative cohesion, continuing the character-driven humor of the first film while further blending its dramatic structure with comedic elements.
