
Bayraktar was born in 1975 in the city of Kirkuk, Iraq, and completed his primary education there. During childhood, he participated in gymnastics competitions. In the final years of the Iran-Iraq War, his family brought him to Türkiye due to conscription efforts conducted by the Iraqi military. Bayraktar arrived in Türkiye on 17 August 1987 and lived in Eskişehir for four years. He completed his high school education in Antalya, where he also participated in theater workshops. In 2000, he graduated from the Theater Department of the Ankara State Conservatory at Hacettepe University. After graduation, he worked as a clown at Paris Sirki for a year until his official appointment, performing circus acrobatics and illusions with the Balkanski Brothers and participating in various tours.
Bayraktar began his career in 2000 with the State Theaters, serving at the Diyarbakır State Theater. In 2007, he was transferred to the Antalya State Theater. Throughout his career, he performed in plays such as Othello, The Glass Cage, Mr. Kolpert, The Bride of the Brother, Mother, and Funny Money, and directed the play Cıbıl Kurt.
Bayraktar began his television career in 2006–2007 with the series Köprü, portraying the character Erdal. In 2009, he played the role of Mahmut Paşa in the series Bir Bulut Olsam. He gained widespread recognition between 2011 and 2014 for his portrayal of Sümbül Ağa in the series Muhteşem Yüzyıl. In 2016, he appeared as Hakan in the series Gecenin Kraliçesi. In 2017, he portrayed Eşref Şerif in the internet series Görünen Adam and Edip in the series Ufak Tefek Cinayetler. In 2018, he acted in Ağlama Anne, and in 2019, he appeared in Aşk Ağlatır. In 2020, he played Çandarlı Halil Paşa in the first season of the Netflix production Rise of Empires: Ottoman. That same year, he appeared in the series Zümrüdüanka; in 2021, he took roles in Vahşi Şeyler and Destan. In 2023, he appeared in Veda Mektubu. In 2024, he joined the first season of Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı.
Bayraktar began his film career in 2009 with the movie Büyük Oyun. In 2013, he appeared in Romantik Komedi 2: Bekarlığa Veda. In 2014, he played in Kırmızı. In 2015, he portrayed Aykut in Aşk Sana Benzer and Ali in Kanlı Girdap. In 2016, he played the character Ekmelettin in Vezir Parmağı. In 2017, he appeared in İstanbul Kırmızısı and Cingöz Recai: Bir Efsanenin Dönüşü (as Adil). In 2018, he took roles in Sevgili Komşum and Arada (as Resul). In 2019, he appeared in Can Dostlar. In 2020 and 2022, he played in Soygun Oyunu: Büyük Vurgun. In 2022, he portrayed Kalender in Gönül.
