Directed by Choi Dong-hoon, the film follows the time-traveling adventures of a fictional Taoist wizard from the Joseon Dynasty. Blending historical fantasy with modern-day settings, the movie presents East Asian mythology through contemporary cinematic techniques.
The story begins 500 years in the past. Evil spirits, once sealed away by Taoist sorcerers, re-emerge in the modern world. In response, Jeon Woochi—a powerful but mischievous wizard from the Joseon era who was also sealed away centuries ago—is resurrected. Woochi travels through time to the present to battle these ancient forces, seeking both revenge for past events and protection for humanity. The film combines comedy, action, and adventure, also exploring Woochi’s struggles to adapt to modern society.
