Yalova University (YÜ) is a public university established by law published in the Official Gazette No. 26892 on 31 May 2008. The university is located in the province of Yalova. Its foundation traces back to the Yalova Vocational School, established in 1995 as a unit of Uludağ University. In 2008, this institution was reorganized as Yalova University.
The university’s foundation is rooted in the Yalova Vocational School, established in 1995 under Uludağ University. To establish a university in the region, the Yalova Higher Education Foundation was founded in 1996 and the Yalova University Construction and Sustainability Association on 19 February 2007. Following these initiatives, Yalova University officially commenced operations in 2008.

The main campus of the university is located in the center of Yalova. This campus houses faculties, institutes, administrative units, conference halls, and sports facilities (both open and covered areas, as well as a fitness center). Additionally, vocational school campuses are situated in the districts of Altınova, Armutlu, Çınarcık, and Termal.
Yalova University’s academic units consist of faculties, institutes, and vocational schools.
According to 2024 data, the university has approximately 18,593 students. The student body includes those enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. International students also receive education at the university.
The university offers undergraduate, associate and graduate programs in fields such as engineering, health sciences, social sciences, law and Islamic sciences through its faculties and vocational schools. The primary language of instruction is Turkish, although some programs and the School of Foreign Languages provide instruction in foreign languages.
Yalova University participates in exchange programs such as Erasmus+ and Mevlana. The university has cooperation agreements with 141 higher education institutions from 38 countries. Under these agreements, programs for student and staff mobility in education and internships are implemented.
University students participate in national and international competitions. For example, students from the New Media and Communication Department won first prize in the international “Global PR Challenge” competition.
The central campus features conference halls, a cafeteria and sports facilities (artificial turf field, football, volleyball, tennis courts and a fitness center) for student use. There are student clubs operating within the university.
