📍 Where is Karabük?
Karabük is located in the western part of the Black Sea Region. This province, situated in the inland areas of Western Black Sea, borders Zonguldak, Bartın, and Kastamonu. Known for its vast forested areas and iron and steel industry, Karabük is also one of Türkiye’s first planned industrial cities.
🕰️ A Brief History
The history of Karabük dates back to ancient times. Many civilizations including the Hittites, Phrygians, Romans, and Byzantines have lived in the region. However, Karabük’s development as a city began in 1937 with the establishment of Türkiye’s first iron and steel plant. With the growth of this facility, the city expanded and became a province in 1995.
