2025 Peshawar Attack

The Peshawar Attack was a terrorist act carried out on 24 November 2025 by suicide bombers and armed attackers against the headquarters of the Federal Constabulary (FC) in the city of Peshawar, in northwestern Pakistan.

Course of the Attack

The attack occurred in the early morning hours at the main entrance of the FC headquarters in the Cantonment area of Peshawar. After a bomb detonated at the entrance gate, two armed attackers attempted to enter the building but were neutralized by security forces.

The attackers initiated contact with the headquarters by detonating a suicide bomb at the main entrance, located in a densely populated residential area. Following the explosion, two of the assailants tried to enter the building armed with weapons, during which security forces intervened to stop them. Among the injured were paramilitary personnel.

Casualties and Injuries

At least three security personnel lost their lives in the attack. The number of injured has been reported by various sources to range between five and eleven.

Responsibility and Security Context

No organization or group has officially claimed responsibility for the attack. However, due to previous similar incidents in the region, various armed groups have been mentioned in media reports, and investigations are currently examining possible links to these organizations.

The attack triggered heightened alert levels among security units in Peshawar and its surroundings. Traffic and transportation in the vicinity of the headquarters were temporarily halted. Peshawar police representatives noted that the attackers’ advance into the headquarters compound had been successfully blocked and that the rapid response by security forces prevented heavier casualties. After the incident, traffic in the area was temporarily suspended, the security perimeter was expanded, and investigative operations were launched in the vicinity.
