ASELSAN AKKOR is an active protection system developed for the ALTAY main battle tank. Equipped with both Hard-Kill and Soft-Kill capabilities, AKKOR ensures comprehensive protection by neutralizing various threats directed at armored vehicles at the most optimal time and distance. Thanks to its modular architecture, the system can be integrated into a wide range of armored platforms, offering an effective defense solution for both asymmetric and conventional warfare environments.

Design and Technology

AKKOR provides comprehensive 360-degree protection, ensuring security from all directions against threats such as anti-tank rockets and missiles. The system’s hard-kill and soft-kill components operate in an integrated manner to rapidly and effectively detect, track, and neutralize incoming threats. Specifically developed for 3rd+ generation main battle tanks such as the ALTAY, the system is equipped with radars, munition launchers, and high-resolution sensors. Beyond merely detecting threats, the system responds with extremely rapid reaction times to neutralize them effectively.

The AKKOR system's ability to neutralize high-velocity threats such as anti-tank rockets and guided missiles significantly enhances its effectiveness on the battlefield. Its radar technology detects incoming threats within extremely short intervals, while the hard-kill interceptor munition detonates at the optimal moment to neutralize the threat. Additionally, AKKOR’s infrastructure not only improves the platform’s survivability but also enhances its situational awareness capabilities.
