Ali Kayası Glass Terrace

Ali Kayası Glass Terrace is a fully glass-floored observation deck located in the province of Kahramanmaraş. It covers an area of approximately 500 square metres. Its foundation was laid in 2022 and it was opened to visitors in 2023. Built for tourism purposes, the facility provides services alongside social amenities and support units. It enables visitors to view the region’s natural landscapes from an elevated vantage point.

Location and Geographic Features

Ali Kayası Glass Terrace is situated in the Bulutoğlu neighbourhood of the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş. It is positioned 160 metres above the Menzelet Dam on steep cliffs. The area is surrounded by natural and historical structures along with the dam and its surrounding valleys. The facility is connected to regional centres via asphalt roads.

History and Project Development

The foundation of the Ali Kayası Glass Terrace project was laid on 2 November 2022 by the Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality. The project was planned to enhance the region’s tourism potential. Construction was completed in 2023 and the facility was opened to the public. During the foundation-laying ceremony, it was announced that the glass terrace would cover an area of approximately 500 square metres and include a cafeteria and tourism support units. Additionally, it was noted that the facility is accessible via an 18-kilometre asphalt road connecting it to the Bulutoğlu neighbourhood.

Architectural and Structural Features

Ali Kayası Glass Terrace has been constructed on an area of approximately 500 square metres. The terrace, with its entirely glass floor, has been designed according to high safety standards. In addition to the glass flooring, the structure includes supporting frameworks and perimeter safety barriers. The architectural design integrates seamlessly with the steep cliffs on which it is built, ensuring harmony with the natural environment. Adjacent to the glass terrace are social amenities such as a cafeteria, children’s play areas, and walking paths.

Ali Kayası Glass Terrace is located approximately 18 to 20 kilometres from the city centre of Kahramanmaraş. The facility is accessible via asphalt roads starting from the Bulutoğlu neighbourhood. The existing road infrastructure has been utilised to facilitate access to the area, and visitors reach the site by road.
