The first live-fire test of GÖKSUR from a surface platform was conducted on February 16, 2025, off the coast of Sinop, from the TCG BEYKOZ vessel.

Development Process and Technical Collaboration

The GÖKSUR has been developed using ASELSAN’s internal resources in collaboration with TÜBİTAK SAGE. The system is designed to meet the requirements of the Turkish Naval Forces Command and features a modular architecture. It utilizes the existing BOZDOGAN IIR-guided missile and is designed to provide effective defense against various aerial threats. Due to its adaptable design, the GÖKSUR can be integrated into different platforms, making it suitable for a wide naval inventory.

System Features and Components

The GÖKSUR is developed as a system providing point defense capability against aerial threats. It is specifically designed to counter, anti-ship and cruise missiles, armed and unarmed UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) and fighter jets and helicopters.

The system's technical specifications and components include:

  • 360-degree threat elimination capability
  • 15 km range
  • New-generation infrared (IIR) seeker-guided missile
  • Multiple engagement capability
  • High effectiveness against low-flying targets
  • Vertical Launch System (VLS) and Angled Launch capability
  • Uplink/Downlink mid-course guidance via data link
  • Easy integration into various platforms due to modular architecture
  • Ability to operate independently and/or integrated into the platform's combat management system
  • AI-supported fire control system

This system has been developed in three main configurations for use on different naval platforms:

  • GÖKSUR 100-N VLS (Vertical Launch System)
  • GÖKSUR 100-N/StA (All-in-One Standalone System)
  • GÖKSUR 100-N Integrated with Combat Management System

Initial Tests and Live-Fire Trials

The first live-fire test of GÖKSUR was conducted on February 16, 2025, from TCG BEYKOZ, off the coast of Sinop. During this test, the following critical system capabilities were evaluated:

  • Data link capability
  • Missile fin folding mechanism
  • Canister usage

The first test launch was successfully completed, confirming the operational capabilities of the system. On February 17, 2025, during the IDEX 2025 Defense Exhibition and Conference in Abu Dhabi, President of Defense Industries Haluk Görgün stated that GÖKSUR 100-N VLS is a modular system that can be easily integrated into different platforms and emphasized that the test results were highly positive.

GÖKSUR was showcased at EURONAVAL 2024, attracting international attention. Due to its modular design and adaptability to different ship types, it has been recognized as a high-potential export product.
