Aslanlar Dam

Aslanlar Dam, also known as Aslanlar Reservoir, is a dam lake located within the boundaries of the Söğütlü district of Sakarya province. Administratively, it is situated at the intersection of the neighborhoods of Beşdeğirmen and Aslanlar. The reservoir is surrounded by a vast lake area and features natural vegetation including wild plum trees that grow spontaneously. Nearby, the ENKA Hydroelectric Power Plant, which supplies part of Sakarya’s electricity needs, is also located.

The dam and its surroundings are primarily used for nature-based sports and recreational activities. As part of nature walks (trekking) organized by the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality, it is designated as a route connecting with Elmalı Village. The area also provides suitable conditions for amateur fishing, picnics, barbecues, and cycling tours.

Public transportation can be used to reach Aslanlar Dam. However, the final 400 meters of the access road consist of an unpaved dirt track. Although there is no direct water source at the dam site itself, a spring is located approximately 600 meters away. The nearest establishment offering basic food supplies, such as a grocery store, is in Beşdeğirmen Neighborhood, one kilometer from the dam.
