Beşir Ayvazoğlu (b. 1953, Sivas) is a Turkish writer, literary historian, and journalist. He is known for his publications in the fields of classical Turkish literature, cultural history, and biography. He draws attention through his works that analyze a culture-based approach to literature and thought, and examine the transition between tradition and modernity.
Beşir Ayvazoğlu was born in Sivas in 1953. He completed his primary and secondary education there. In 1976, he graduated from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Letters, Istanbul University. He continued his postgraduate studies at the same faculty.
After completing his education, he worked as a literature teacher in various high schools. He later held positions at several media organizations, notably the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT). From the 1980s onward, he focused primarily on journalism, writing, and editing. He wrote columns for newspapers such as Zaman, Tercüman, Yeni Şafak, and Star. His articles have also been published in journals including Türk Edebiyatı, Zaman Kitap, Dergâh, and Kubbealtı Akademi Mecmuası.
