Between Death and Life (Film)

Life on Death Row (Original title: The Life of David Gale) is a 2003 crime drama thriller directed by Alan Parker. The film stars Kevin Spacey, Kate Winslet, and Laura Linney. It centers on a university professor who opposes the death penalty and fights for its abolition, only to be sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, while a journalist races against time to uncover the truth behind the case.

Plot

David Gale, a professor at the University of Texas, is an activist opposed to the death penalty. His life is upended when he is accused of rape and subsequently arrested for the murder of his colleague, Constance Harraway. Sentenced to death, Gale agrees to an interview with young journalist Bitsey Bloom three days before his execution. Bloom begins to believe in Gale’s innocence and struggles against time to reveal the truth.
