Çambaşı Ski Center

Çambaşı Ski Center is located on Çambaşı Yaylası, within the boundaries of Kabadüz district in Ordu province, in Türkiye’s Black Sea Region. It is approximately 54 kilometers from the city center of Ordu and about 58 kilometers from Kabadüz district. Situated at an elevation of approximately 2,000 meters above sea level, the center is accessible via an asphalt road that remains open year-round and is close to the Black Sea coast.

Çambaşı Yaylası is one of the largest plateaus in the Black Sea Region, covering an area of approximately 100,000 decares and consisting of 72 settlements. This plateau, situated at an altitude of about 1,850 to 2,000 meters above sea level, boasts rich flora and fauna diversity. Basic infrastructure such as electricity, telephone services, a health center, and a gendarmerie station is available in the area. A marketplace, bazaar, restaurants, and picnic areas are located within the plateau, and the local population increases significantly during the summer months. Several trout farming facilities are present on the plateau. During summer, many people from coastal settlements in the Black Sea region migrate to the plateau to escape the heat and relax.

Construction of the Çambaşı Ski Center began in 2010. The administrative building, service structures, social facilities, and cafeterias within the complex were completed and opened for service in 2017. The ski center was planned and implemented with the aim of enhancing Ordu’s winter tourism potential and transforming the region into a four-season tourism destination.

The Çambaşı Ski Center features two main ski slopes, designed according to varying difficulty levels to serve both beginners and experienced skiers. The facility also includes a cable car system. The plateau is among the snowiest regions in Türkiye, with snow depth reaching 3 to 4 meters during winter months. Winter sports such as skiing, snowboarding, and sledding are possible here, and the region provides a professionally suitable environment for nature-based sports. Accommodation infrastructure includes modern hotels and bungalow-style lodging units on the plateau.

The Çambaşı Ski Center organizes skiing training programs, particularly during semester breaks and other specific periods. These programs are structured according to different age groups and skill levels with the aim of promoting skiing as a sport. Throughout the season, various sporting and social events are also held. Visitor numbers increase significantly during holiday periods, and the area has become a winter sports training center for children and youth.

The Çambaşı Ski Center aims to strengthen Ordu’s winter tourism infrastructure. Çambaşı Yaylası and the ski center are regarded as a tourism area where both summer and winter tourism thrive, attracting both domestic and international tourists.

Access to Çambaşı Yaylası and the Ski Center is provided via asphalt roads that remain open throughout the year. Regular minibus services operate between Ordu and the plateau, and private vehicles also provide access. These transportation options ensure that visitors can reach the facilities during both summer and winter seasons.
