Derik Gap Waterfall

Derik GAP Waterfall is located within the boundaries of the Derik district in Mardin Province, in Türkiye’s Southeastern Anatolia Region.

Status and Protection Status

The Derik GAP Waterfall has been granted the status of “nature park” by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The area is protected under the Forestry Law and managed for the sustainable use of its natural resources.

Physical Characteristics

The waterfall features natural stream sources and surrounding vegetation, contributing to a natural landscape. The rocky terrain provides a natural environment suitable for recreational use.

Infrastructure and Development

Various improvements in the area are being carried out through cooperation between the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and local administrations. Infrastructure projects including walking paths, viewing platforms, parking areas and rest points have been planned, with some sections already completed.

Tourism and Usage Purposes

The Derik GAP Waterfall Nature Park is organized to support nature-based tourism activities. Projects aimed at developing the area for tourism are being implemented through collaboration among public institutions.

The Derik GAP Waterfall Nature Park is under the responsibility of the General Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and all activities within the area are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation.
