Gökhan Türkmen has been an active figure in the music industry since the early 2000s. He has produced a wide range of work both within the popular music market and in alternative projects, contributing through music production, live performances, and participation in social responsibility initiatives. Life and Education

Gökhan Türkmen was born on September 1, 1983, in Istanbul, Turkey. His paternal roots are from Rize, and his maternal roots are from Erzincan. He completed his secondary education at Habire Yahşi High School. In 2003, he graduated from the Department of Industrial Management at Kocaeli University. After graduation, he took vocal training for one year. He began playing the guitar in 1997. In the early 2000s, he performed at various venues and continued his music career on an amateur basis.

Music Career

Türkmen gained wide recognition after a video of him performing the song "Büyük İnsan," written and composed by Serkan Söylemez, exceeded five million views on YouTube. His subsequent songs "Dön" and "Efkarlıyım" also attracted considerable attention online. His participation in a competition organized by Nokia and the support he received from music enthusiasts laid the foundation for his professional music career.

In 2008, he released his debut studio album Büyük İnsan under the İrem Records label. He filmed music videos for songs such as "Yan Sen", "Büyük İnsan", and "Dön" With his second studio album, Biraz Ayrılık, released in 2010, Türkmen expanded his audience and gained significant media exposure through tracks like "Ayıp Ettin", "Rüya", and "Bir Öykü".

In 2012, he released an EP^【1】 (extended play) titled "Ara". The song "Bitmesin" from this project remained at number one on music charts for 11 weeks.

In 2014, he released the album En Baştan, achieving high view counts with the music video for "Çatı Katı." During the production of this album, he worked as a producer with his band. The same year, he founded his own production company, GTR Müzik. In 2015, he initiated projects under this label, including collaborations with Aslı Demirer and Analog People.

In 2016, he released his fourth studio album Sessiz, featuring notable tracks such as "Öyle Güzel Ki" and "Aşktır." That same year, he released the single "Vay Halimize" to raise awareness about environmental pollution. He also supported a sapling donation campaign with Ege Forest Foundation through his song "İnsanız Ayıbı Yok."

In 2017, he founded the GTR Jingle and GTR Çocuk brands under the broader structure of GTR Media. He also incorporated the Deney Evi Studio into his company as GTR Deneyevi. In 2018, under the title Synesthesia, he released a mashup and cover project offering original interpretations by combining different songs.

In 2020, he released the album Romantik both on digital platforms and in vinyl format. During the pandemic, he organized digital concerts, maintaining interaction with his audience online. In this period, he also released singles such as "Kağıt,", "Yüzüme Vurma", "Deli", and "Mavi" a duet with his daughter Nil Rona.

In 2021, he released his seventh studio album 7, which included disco-funk style tracks like "Şerefine" and "Heyecan." The music videos for these songs, filmed in locations like Cappadocia, gained notable attention on digital platforms.

Between 2022 and 2023, Türkmen gave a total of 224 concerts both domestically and internationally. He released singles such as "Mahşer," "Bal," and "Açık Adres" and participated in tribute projects for İbrahim Erkal (Hürmet) and Selami Şahin.

As of 2025, he is working on his ninth studio album.

Family Life

Gökhan Türkmen married Sinem Aksoy in 2014. The couple has two daughters: Nil Rona, born in 2015, and Leyla Ada, born in 2017.
