Youth and Development Years

Günay Güvenç, born on 25 June 1991 in Neu-Ulm, Germany, began his career in Germany. He started playing in the youth academy of SSV Ulm 1846 before joining the youth setup of Stuttgarter Kickers in 2009, where he took his first steps toward professionalism.

Professional Career

Following his performances in Germany, Günay transferred to Türkiye and played for several clubs:

• Beşiktaş (2013-2015): He joined Beşiktaş in 2013 but received limited playing time.
• Adanaspor (2015-2016): He regularly played for Adanaspor after his transfer, gaining valuable match experience.
• Mersin İdmanyurdu (2016-2017): He guarded the goal for one season.
• Göztepe (2017-2018): He played a role in the team’s promotion to the Süper Lig.
• Gaziantep FK (2018-2023): He became an important member of the team, making numerous appearances over five seasons.
• Kasımpaşa (2023): He joined on loan for the second half of the season.

Galatasaray Era

On 1 August 2023, Günay signed a three-year contract with Galatasaray. He served as a backup goalkeeper and added experience and depth to the squad. He earned playing time during the 2023-2024 season on time occasions.

National Team Career

Günay Güvenç made four appearances for the Türkiye A2 national team. Wearing the Türkiye senior national team jersey remains one of his greatest ambitions.
