Gürhan is Türkiye's first and only 155 mm Wheeled Hybrid Howitzer system, developed by Machine and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE A.Ş.). Designed to meet the demands of modern battlefields, it is an artillery system featuring innovative capabilities such as high mobility, powerful firing capacity, and a hybrid propulsion system.

Development Process and Features

The Gürhan Howitzer system has been entirely developed domestically and nationally using MKE A.Ş.'s own resources and engineering expertise. This project elevates Türkiye's defense industry proficiency in artillery systems to a new level.

The key features that distinguish Gürhan are as follows:

• 155 mm Gun Barrel: Equipped with a 155 mm caliber gun barrel compliant with NATO standards, it delivers high destructive power and extended range.
• Wheeled Propulsion System: Its self-propelled drive system enables rapid repositioning and high mobility. This feature is critical for shoot-and-scoot tactics.
• Hybrid Propulsion System: Gürhan's most notable feature is its hybrid propulsion system, a world first. This system combines an internal combustion engine with an electric motor to improve fuel efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enable quieter movement. In critical situations or to avoid enemy detection, it can operate solely on electric power.
• High Rate of Fire: Thanks to an advanced automatic loading system and rapid target acquisition capability, it achieves a high rate of fire.
• Modern Fire Control System: An integrated fire control system provides precise aiming and targeting capabilities.
• Modular Design: The system’s modular architecture facilitates integration onto various platforms and simplifies maintenance and repair processes.
