Homeze Plateau is located in the Black Sea Region of Türkiye, within the borders of İkizdere district, which is part of Rize province. The plateau is situated in the southeast of İkizdere, above the Cimil Valley. With an altitude of approximately 2,368 meters, the plateau is about 35 kilometers away from the district center of İkizdere. Transportation is available during the summer months by private vehicle or plateau minibuses. Transportation becomes difficult during the winter due to snow and blizzards.

Geographical and Climatic Features
The plateau is located within the Eastern Black Sea mountain range and has a mountainous and rugged topography. The area has a typical high mountain climate. Summers are cool and humid, while nights are quite cold. Alpine meadows, endemic herbaceous plants, and plateau flowers are common around the plateau. The region is sometimes foggy, which affects both the view and transportation.
Biological Diversity
The area around Homeze Plateau is rich in natural flora and fauna. Plant species such as blue centaury, primrose, and yellow mountain tulip can be observed in the vegetation. In terms of wildlife, mammals such as bears, foxes, jackals, and mountain goats, as well as predatory bird species such as eagles, vultures, and falcons, can be found in the region.
Highland Culture and Social Life
Homeze Plateau is one of the summer settlements traditionally used by the local people. Families from İkizdere and surrounding villages spend their summers here and engage in small livestock farming activities. The houses built on the plateau reflect traditional Black Sea architecture; they are generally wooden structures with stone foundations. The main products produced include butter, cottage cheese, yogurt, and curd cheese. Social life is sustained through mutual aid, and local games and celebrations are occasionally held accompanied by bagpipes.
Tourism and Usage Status
Homeze Plateau is a plateau that has not yet undergone extensive tourist commercialization. This situation has ensured that the area's natural structure is largely preserved. The plateau has potential for ecotourism activities such as nature walks, mountaineering, and nature photography.
