Kawasaki Ninja H2 is a hypersport motorcycle produced by Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI), featuring a 998 cm³ inline-four supercharged engine architecture. Designed to surpass the performance limits of standard atmospheric engines in the motorcycle industry, this model is engineered with high-power output and aerodynamic efficiency as core priorities. The base model of the series, the Ninja H2, forms a product family alongside the H2R, produced exclusively for closed-circuit use, and the H2 SX, adapted for long-distance touring standards^【1】.

At the heart of the Ninja H2 series lies the supercharging technology, developed through a collaborative engineering effort between Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ subsidiary departments: the Gas Turbine and Machinery Company, the Aerospace and Space Company, and the Corporate Technology Division^【2】. The impeller used in this system features a complex three-dimensional structure machined from forged aluminum billets on five-axis CNC machines. A planetary gear mechanism transmits power from the crankshaft to the impeller, enabling it to rotate at 9.2 times the crankshaft speed. The impeller reaches approximately 130,000 rpm, pumping over 200 liters of air per second into the engine. Thanks to the design’s high thermal efficiency, compressed air experiences minimal temperature rise, eliminating the need for a bulky intercooler and enabling a compact engine layout. For power transmission, a "dog-ring" type transmission, commonly used in MotoGP and Formula 1 vehicles, ensures seamless and rapid gear shifts^【3】.

The Ninja H2 is the street-legal standard variant of the series. To transfer the high torque and power output of the supercharged engine to the road, the motorcycle employs a high-tensile steel trellis frame. All models feature a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 998 cm³ inline-four supercharged engine.
