

Leandro Trossard was born on 4 December 1994 in Maasmechelen, in the Limburg region of België. He began playing football at small years of age, initially training with the youth academy of Patro Eisden. He then moved successively to the youth systems of Bocholter VV and Genk. His performances at Genk attracted the attention of club officials and technical scouts, and in 2012, at the age of 18, he was promoted to Genk’s first team.
Trossard launched his professional career with Genk. The Belgian player made a total of 83 official appearances for Genk between 2012 and 2019, scoring 27 goals. During this period, he was sent out on loan to several clubs for further development:
In July 2019, Leandro Trossard transferred to Brighton & Hove Albion of the English Premier League for a fee of approximately 20 million euros. Making his debut in England, Trossard played 116 official matches for Brighton, scoring 25 goals.
In January 2023, Arsenal reached an agreement with Brighton to sign Trossard. For this transfer, Arsenal paid a total of 27 million pounds (approximately 31 million euros), comprising a cash payment of 21 million pounds and 6 million pounds in bonuses.
Since joining Arsenal, Trossard has regularly featured in the starting XI, bringing dynamism to the team. In his first season, he made appearances in the UEFA Europe League, the Premier League, and the FA Cup such as important competitions. He won the 2023 FA Community Shield with Arsenal. Between 2023 and 2025, he made over 85 appearances for Arsenal and scored 18 goals.
Leandro Trossard represented Belgium at various youth levels, playing for the U16, U17, U18, U19, and U21 national teams. In 2020, he was called up to the senior national team by Roberto Martínez.
Trossard made his debut for the senior national team in 2020. To date, he has made 43 appearances and scored 10 goals. He was also part of Belgium’s squad for the UEFA European Championship (EURO) 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He plays a key role for the national team, particularly due to his pace and technical ability on the left wing.
Leandro Trossard married Laura Hilven in 2019, after meeting her in 2014. The couple has two sons: Thiago, born in 2017, and a second son born in 2023. Known for his devotion to family and humble lifestyle, Trossard is also recognized for his calm demeanor off the pitch.
