Off-road refers to driving motor vehicles on natural terrains rather than on paved surfaces like asphalt or concrete. This includes environments such as dirt, mud, rocky areas, sand, or snow. The World's Largest Off-Road Race

The Dakar Rally is one of the most challenging and iconic off-road rallies in the world. It was first organized in 1979 by French motorcyclist Thierry Sabine. The original route stretched from Paris, France to Dakar, Senegal, which is why it was long known as the “Paris-Dakar Rally.” The race takes place over extremely harsh terrains such as deserts, mountains, rocky roads, and sand dunes. It features categories for motorcycles, cars, trucks, quads (ATVs), and UTVs, and includes both amateur and professional competitors. Dakar is not just a race of speed—it’s a true test of navigation skills, physical endurance, and mechanical expertise.

Due to security threats, the rally was held outside of Africa for the first time in 2009, moving to South America. It continued there for several years with routes across countries such as Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Since 2020, the race has been held in Saudi Arabia, marking a new chapter in its history. The rally’s mission is to offer competitors a physical and mental challenge in nature’s most extreme conditions. Over the years, it has been the stage for dramatic events, accidents, and unforgettable victories.
