Orange Blossom Carnival

One of the events that best reflects Adana’s cultural richness and natural beauty is the Orange Blossom Carnival, which has been held since 2013 to celebrate the arrival of spring. This carnival, closely followed by both local and international tourists, is not only a source of entertainment but also holds significant importance for the city’s promotion and economy.

History

The Adana Orange Blossom Carnival was first organized in 2013 through the initiative of advertising professional Ali Haydar Bozkurt. Originally coordinated via social media, the event quickly gained widespread public support. Held in April when the city is blanketed in orange blossoms, the carnival gradually acquired official status and expanded in scale with contributions from the Adana Metropolitan Municipality.

The aim of the carnival was to promote Adana’s natural beauty, historical heritage, and hospitality in order to enhance the city’s tourism potential. Today, recognized as Türkiye’s first and largest street carnival, the event brings hundreds of thousands of people to Adana’s streets each April.

During the carnival, Adana transforms into an open-air festival. Costumed parades, concerts, dance performances, food stalls, and workshops for children turn the city into a vibrant stage.
