Papatyam is a Turkish family and comedy series that aired between 2009 and 2011. The series was directed by Bora Tekay and written by Murat Aras, with production handled by Birol Güven. Spanning four seasons, the show centers on two older individuals who meet on a matchmaking program and unexpectedly transform their lives.

Plot

The series begins with two people who have lost hope in love meeting on a matchmaking program. Necati, a butcher who has failed in romantic relationships and been married and divorced three times, crosses paths with a woman who has been betrayed and emotionally wounded. Their initial meeting quickly leads to a decision to live together. However, sharing the same home proves far more difficult than expected. Necati’s children oppose the marriage, and the newly formed household faces numerous challenges. Family conflicts on one side and economic hardships on the other become central forces shaping the characters’ lives.
