The Conjuring: The Last Key is a 2018 American supernatural horror film directed by Adam Robitel. The film follows medium Elise Rainier as she returns to the house where she spent her childhood and which holds terrifying memories, to investigate paranormal activity there.

Plot

The film’s protagonist is the gifted parapsychologist Dr. Elise Rainier. One day, she receives a phone call from the house where she grew up and learns that paranormal events are occurring there. Reluctantly, Elise decides to help and takes on the case with her assistants Specs and Tucker. However, this assignment is far more personal than a typical paranormal investigation. Elise must confront traumatic memories from her past in that house and the horrific entity that tore her family apart. This entity is a being associated with keys and locks that steals human souls and is closely tied to Elise’s history.
