SABER UKK

The FNSS SABER is a single-person, medium-caliber, electrically driven, modular turret system designed to be integrated into wheeled and tracked armored vehicles. Depending on user requirements, the SABER can be configured with various primary weapon options and is equipped with high firing accuracy, advanced fire control systems, and modern survivability features.

General Characteristics

The SABER can be supplied in three different configurations based on user requirements:

• 25 mm M242 Bushmaster dual-feed automatic cannon
• 40 mm Automatic Grenade Launcher (AGL)
• 12.7 mm Machine Gun (MG)

As a secondary weapon system, a 7.62 mm machine gun is mounted coaxially, with 600 rounds of ammunition readily available within the turret for this system.

The traverse axis of the turret is equipped with 360° continuous rotation and manual backup capability. The elevation axis can move between -8° and +48°, with manual backup also available in this axis. The maximum rotation speed on both axes exceeds 60°/s. Tracking speed is maintained at 0.3 mils/s, and a two-axis electrically driven stabilization system ensures high firing accuracy while on the move.

Fire Control and Sight System

The SABER Turret System is equipped with an advanced sight and fire control subsystem. Standard equipment includes:

• Third-generation thermal camera (8-12 μm or 3-5 μm)
• Zoom optical sight
• Daylight camera
• Laser rangefinder with 8,000 meter range
• Automatic ballistic calculation system
• Automatic elevation and lead angle computation capability

An automatic target tracking system can also be integrated as an optional feature.

Dimensions and Weight

The combat-loaded weight of the SABER Turret System in the 25 mm configuration is 1,800 kg. The ring gear diameter is 1,000 mm, the rotation radius is 2,600 mm, the turret width is 1.6 meters, and the height above the mounting surface is 0.61 meters.

Survivability Features

The FNSS SABER complies with the ballistic protection levels specified in STANAG 4569. The exact protection level of the all-around ballistic armor structure is classified. Additionally, the turret is fitted with eight smoke grenade launchers to provide high survivability in combat environments.

The FNSS-developed SABER Turret System is preferred for use in various classes of armored ground vehicles due to its advanced electric turret drive system, high survivability capacity, and modern sighting and fire control systems.
