TEI-TJ300 Turbojet Engine

TEI-TJ300 is Türkiye's first medium-range anti-ship missile jet engine. The project was initiated in September 2017 under an agreement signed between TEI (TUSAŞ Motor Sanayii A.Ş.) and Roketsan, with support from TÜBİTAK. As part of the Medium-Range Anti-Ship (MRAS) Air-Breathing Jet Engine Project, the first prototype test of the entirely domestically designed and manufactured turbojet engine was successfully conducted on 25 February 2020.

In April 2021, the TEI-TJ300 broke a world record in its class by generating 1,342 Newtons of thrust despite a diameter of only 224 mm.

The TEI-TJ300 is the first engine in the world capable of producing such power within a 224 mm diameter limit. This compact size enables its deployment across multiple platforms. The engine can operate at high speeds reaching 90% of the speed of sound at an altitude of 5,000 ft. Additionally, it can initiate operation without requiring any external starting system such as a starter motor, relying solely on the windmilling effect. This feature allows the engine to be used in air, land, and sea defense systems.
