TEKNOFEST Model Satellite Competition

TEKNOFEST Model Satellite Competition is an interdisciplinary engineering competition organized to increase youth interest in space and satellite technologies in line with Türkiye’s National Technology Technology Offensive vision and to enhance their technical and scientific competencies in this field. Held within the framework of TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival, the competition provides participants with the opportunity to experience the entire process of designing, manufacturing, integrating, testing and post-mission evaluation of satellite systems like.

Aim and Scope

The Model Satellite Competition is conducted through projects that model the functions of a satellite system. Its primary objective is to foster the development of complex systems incorporating elements such as navigation, communication, autonomy and mission execution, thereby providing participants with a hands-on engineering environment. In this regard, the competition encompasses not only theoretical knowledge but also processes such as systems engineering, integration, error analysis and post-mission performance evaluation.

The competition aims to enable individuals interested in space technologies to work within a multidisciplinary framework. It thus offers a comprehensive platform requiring expertise from diverse fields such as electronics, mechanical, software, aerospace and communications engineering. The competition also emphasizes teamwork, strategic planning and problem solving skills.

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate, master’s and doctoral students currently enrolled in educational institutions in Türkiye or abroad may participate in the Model Satellite Competition as teams. The competition is based on collaborative team work, and team size varies according to competition categories.
