TEKNOFEST World Drone Cup

TEKNOFEST World Drone Cup is one of the best-known competitions for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). This event, held annually in Türkiye, brings together participants from around the world to compete with advanced UAVs. In the 21st century, where technology is rapidly evolving, such competitions test not only speed and maneuverability but also engineering knowledge and skills. TEKNOFEST is regarded as one of the foundational elements of Türkiye’s national technology initiative vision. Known worldwide by the slogan “The Festival That Does Not Touch the Ground,” this organization is designed to increase interest in technology. As part of TEKNOFEST, the World Drone Cup expands this vision onto the international stage, aiming to unite technology enthusiasts from diverse cultures and countries.

Only foreign nationals may apply to compete in the 2025 World Drone Cup. Turkish citizens are not eligible for direct participation; however, they may qualify by achieving a ranking in the TEKNOFEST Drone Championship. Applications must be submitted online via www.teknofest.org by 30 May 2025. Individual applicants must create a single-member team through the CMS system to complete the registration process.

Throughout the competition, participants must demonstrate the technical capabilities of their UAVs, including speed, maneuverability, and engineering design. UAVs must comply with specific technical criteria such as battery type, frame dimensions, and radio control systems. These regulations are established to ensure a safe and fair competitive environment.

The TEKNOFEST World Drone Cup is not merely a speed contest. The UAVs competing must navigate courses that test high precision and engineering expertise alongside speed. These courses include tight turns, challenging obstacles, and high-speed maneuvers. Pilots must apply their engineering knowledge and strategic planning to direct their drones with maximum efficiency at every stage.
