Kaderimin Oyunu is a Turkish television drama series centered on family themes, with its first episode released on December 3, 2021 in Türkiye. The screenplay was written by Pınar Ordu, Gül Abus Semerci, and Melis Veziroğlu Yılmaz, with Emre Kabakuşak serving as director. The main roles are shared by Öykü Karayel, Akın Akınözü, and Sarp Apak.

Plot

Asiye lost her mother at a young age and was raised by her stepmother. After a difficult childhood, she ran away from home at age 17 and married Cemal. They had two children, Nergis and Umut. Over time, the marriage deteriorated due to financial hardship and Cemal’s abandonment of his family. Asiye struggles to fulfill both maternal and paternal roles for her children, until a tragic event involving Nergis transforms their lives entirely. In an effort to protect her children, Asiye embarks on a journey into the unknown, where her path crosses with Mahir, a stranger. Moved by human compassion, Mahir agrees to help Asiye and her children, taking them into his car. This decision alters not only his own life but also the fate of Asiye and her children. For Asiye, finding refuge at the Demirhan Mansion marks not a rescue but the beginning of a new struggle.

Themes

The series centers on themes such as family, female solidarity, sacrifice, poverty, parenthood, and class differences. It also explores the position of women in society, the figure of the mother who stands by her children, and how lives intersecting through chance can be transformed. Additionally, the concepts of hope, resilience, and change are examined.

Cast and Characters

• Öykü Karayel – Asiye Kaya: The protagonist of the series. She married young and endures a difficult life with her two children. Fleeing the violence and neglect from her husband, she strives to build a new life.
• Akın Akınözü – Cemal Kaya: Asiye’s first husband. Their marriage, initially rooted in love, gradually turns into a relationship defined by his avoidance of responsibility.
• Sarp Apak – Mahir Demirhan: A compassionate and conscientious man who enters Asiye’s life during her darkest hours. He supports Asiye and stands up for her children. Over time, he develops feelings for Asiye.
