Founded in 1990 in New York City by Egyptian immigrants Mohamed Abouelenein, Ahmed Elsaka and Abdelbaset Elsayed, the business began as a hot dog cart. It later shifted its focus to offering halal meals primarily to meet the accessible halal food needs of Muslim taxi drivers.
