Tolga Tekin was born on March 19, 1973, in Ankara. He graduated from the Theatre Department of the State Conservatory at Hacettepe University in 1996.
In the same year, he passed the audition for the State Theatres and began his career at the Adana State Theatre. He made his stage debut in 1996 with the play Turkish Wedding. Between 1996 and 2004, he performed in numerous plays at the Adana State Theatre. In the 2005–2006 season, he moved to the Ankara State Theatre with the play Aşk-ı Memnu. He remains a member of the Ankara State Theatre ensemble to this day.
Tolga Tekin entered the world of television in 2008 with the series Bizim Evin Halleri. He subsequently appeared in productions such as Deniz Yıldızı (2009), Kapalıçarşı (2010), Kardelen (2010), Muhteşem Yüzyıl (2012), Paramparça (2014–2016), Bir Litre Gözyaşı (2018), Vatanım Sensin (2018), Akıncı (2021), Dünya Hali (2021), Kuruluş Osman (2022), Taçsız Prenses (2023), Aktris (2023), and Hayatımın Neşesi (2023). In 2025, he portrayed the character Serdar in the series İstanbul Ansiklopedisi.
In cinema, he has appeared in films such as Behzat Ç. Seni Kalbime Gömdüm (2011), Zenne (2011), Behzat Ç. Ankara Yanıyor (2013), Neden Tarkovski Olamıyorum... (2014), Rüzgarda Salınan Nilüfer (2016), Kelebekler (2018), Bizi Hatırla (2019), Rise of Empires: Ottoman (2020), and Ölü Mevsim (2024).
In 2011, he won the Baykal Saran Theatre Award for his performance in the play Yastık Adam.
Tolga Tekin married actress Zeynep Koltuk on July 21, 2013. Their marriage ended in 2014.
