Production Process

The film was developed based on Hasbro’s Transformers toy line. The screenplay was written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, with the story credited to John Rogers, Orci, and Kurtzman. Michael Bay, known for his visual style and large-scale productions in action sequences, was chosen as director. Filming took place in 2006 in Los Angeles, Nevada, and New Mexico. Visual effects were created by Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) using the most advanced CGI technology of the time.
