Veda Bus (Film)

Veda Busesi is a 1965 Turkish melodrama film. The screenplay was written by Bülent Oran, and the film was directed by Ülkü Erakalın. The producers include Kadri Yurdatap, Ülkü Erakalın, Nevzat Pesen, and Vasil Anastas. The lead roles are shared by prominent actors of the era, Türkan Şoray and Aliye Rona.

The film centers on a tragic and emotional story set largely in an opulent villa. A young man named Ekrem suffers a devastating car accident on his wedding day. In the crash, he loses his newlywed wife and suffers severe facial disfigurement that renders him unrecognizable. The profound loss and physical deformity drive Ekrem into a reclusive life.

His domineering mother is determined to bring her son back to life. One day, she encounters a young woman named Türkan, who bears a striking resemblance to Ekrem’s deceased bride. She tries to convince Türkan to marry Ekrem. Although Türkan agrees to the marriage, she is deeply disturbed by Ekrem’s appearance.

Ekrem, in turn, makes a decisive choice. He leaves the country and undergoes complete facial reconstruction through cosmetic surgery. Upon returning to Türkiye, he resolves to teach Türkan, who once rejected him, an unforgettable lesson.
