Veysel Sarı was born on 25 July 1988 in Istanbul. He began his football career in the youth academy of Bayrampaşa Altıntepsi Makelspor. He later transferred to Beylerbeyi Spor Kulübü. He played for clubs in Türkiye including Eskişehirspor, Galatasaray, Kasımpaşa and Antalyaspor. He played as a right-back and centre-back. He is an experienced footballer with many years of service in the Süper Lig.
In 2009 he transferred to Eskişehirspor, where he made his Süper Lig debut. Between 2009 and 2014 he appeared in 104 official matches and scored nine goals. He was part of the team that reached the final of the Türkiye Kupası. His defensive performances attracted attention and led to his call-up to the national team during this period.
In January 2014 he transferred to Galatasaray. He played briefly for the red-and-yellow club, competing in the Süper Lig, Türkiye Kupası and Süper Kupa. He won the Süper Lig title in the 2013-2014 season. He made a total of 12 official appearances during his time at Galatasaray.
From 2014 to 2020 he played for Kasımpaşa. He was a regular member of the starting eleven and occasionally served as captain. During this period he made over 130 official appearances and scored nine goals. His consistent defensive performances brought him into the spotlight in the Süper Lig.
In 2020 he transferred to Antalyaspor. He assumed an important role in the team and took on the captaincy. Between 2020 and 2025 he made consistent appearances in both league and cup matches. He played for Antalyaspor in the 2021 Türkiye Süper Kupası final and the 2023-2024 Türkiye Kupası semi-final.
Veysel Sarı made his debut for the Türkiye national team in 2013. He earned two caps at the senior international level. He also played for the Türkiye A2 national team. His first international match was against Belarus. He did not score any goals for the national team.
