Yeşilköy Waterfall

Yeşilköy Waterfall is a natural waterfall located in the valley of the Zamantı River, near Yeşilköy Village in the Yahyalı district of Kayseri. The waterfall consists of multiple streams that cascade from heights ranging between 10 and 30 metres. The streams flowing on both banks of the Zamantı River disappear at certain points within the valley and re-emerge further downstream. A connecting road parking area and staircase system have been constructed to provide access to the waterfall. Yeşilköy Waterfall is among the other waterfalls in the Yahyalı district, alongside Kapuzbaşı and Derebağ waterfalls.

Physical Characteristics

Yeşilköy Waterfall consists of multiple streams that cascade from heights ranging between 10 and 30 metres. One of the streams flows from approximately 20 metres while another flows from about 10 metres. The waterfalls situated in the Zamantı River valley discharge water from both banks of the river. Due to the region’s geological structure the water disappears underground at certain points and re-emerges further along the valley.

Location and Geographic Features

Yeşilköy Waterfall is located near Yeşilköy Village in the Yahyalı district of Kayseri Province. The waterfall is approximately three kilometres from the village and lies within the Zamantı River valley. The streams forming the waterfall flow from both banks of the Zamantı River and emerge at various points along the rocky areas of the valley.

Access and Infrastructure

A connecting road approximately three kilometres long has been constructed to provide access to Yeşilköy Waterfall. The first 2.5 kilometres of the road are paved with hot asphalt while the remaining section is surfaced with cobblestone. A parking area has been designated for visitors to leave their vehicles. A staircase consisting of 344 steps has been built to facilitate descent to the waterfall.

Visitor Statistics

Yeşilköy Waterfall is among the natural sites in the Yahyalı district that are visited for tourism purposes. The waterfall receives approximately 300,000 visitors annually. Transportation and parking arrangements have been made for visitors; plans are underway to increase the capacity of the existing parking area. Promotion of the waterfall is carried out through social media posts and directional signage along the access road.
