Young Development Academy Program

The Youth Development Academy is a development program designed for students who have achieved high success in the secondary school entrance examination (LGS), implemented by the Türkiye Teknoloji Takımı Vakfı (T3 Foundation). The primary objective of the program is to support high-achieving students not only in their academic development but also in their social, cultural, and personal growth, fostering them into well-rounded individuals.

The Youth Development Academy is structured around a holistic approach aimed at strengthening students’ critical thinking, communication, problem-solving, and productivity skills. The program seeks to help students develop early career awareness, identify their interests, and make informed decisions about their future.

The program is delivered through a hybrid education model, combining in-person sessions, live online workshops, and asynchronous content provided via the T3 Academy platform. This approach creates a flexible and sustainable learning environment that caters to diverse learning styles.

Program Content

The content of the Youth Development Academy is organized thematically to support the multidimensional development of students.

21st Century Skills

Under this theme, students develop critical thinking, creative problem solving, collaboration, and metacognitive skills. The training is designed to encourage students to consider multiple perspectives and generate solutions to complex problems.

Personal Development

Personal development content focuses on self-awareness, communication skills, time management, persuasion, and expression. The goal is to help students understand themselves, recognize their strengths, and become more effective participants in social relationships.

History and Civilization

The history and civilization theme aims to help students understand the relationship between the past and the present and evaluate historical events through a critical lens. The content emphasizes that historical awareness is not merely about acquiring information but involves interpretation and meaning-making.

Careers of the Future

This theme aims to raise awareness among students about technology-based career fields. Topics such as artificial intelligence, financial technologies, digital manufacturing, and next-generation engineering are explored to support students in identifying career options at an early age.

21st Century Literacy

21st century literacy encompasses digital, media, technological, and financial literacy. The program aims to enable students to critically evaluate digital content and develop safe, conscious media usage habits.

Career Planning

Career planning content helps students identify their interests and competencies. Topics include goal setting, motivation, career pathways, and making informed decisions about professional choices.

Entrepreneurship

Under the entrepreneurship theme, students are introduced to processes that transform problems into ideas and ideas into products. The program aims to develop innovation, value creation, and solution-oriented thinking skills, encouraging students to adopt an entrepreneurial mindset.

Ideathon

The Ideathon, held at the end of the program, is an integrative activity where students apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the program. Working in teams, students develop and present ideas addressing specific problem areas.

Implementation Process

The Youth Development Academy is implemented as a structured 11-week program. The process includes seminars, workshops, online sessions, and asynchronous content completed individually by students. This structure ensures that the learning process is spread over time and sustained throughout the program.

At the end of the program, an Ideathon event is held where students present the ideas they have developed in teams. The Ideathon is designed as an integrative stage that applies the knowledge, skills, and experiences gained throughout the program, with a focus on entrepreneurship and problem solving.

Istanbul Implementation

The Istanbul implementation of the Youth Development Academy was carried out in coordination with the Türkiye Teknoloji Takımı Vakfı, in collaboration with the Governorship of Istanbul and the Istanbul Provincial National Education Directorate.

The program was implemented across Istanbul with participation from students who achieved high scores in the LGS. It consisted of educational seminars and practical activities planned within the framework of public institution and civil society partnerships. The Istanbul implementation serves as the first pilot model for expanding the program to other cities.

Ankara Implementation

The Youth Development Academy is also planned for implementation in Ankara. The Ankara implementation will be structured based on the lessons learned from the Istanbul experience and will target a different group of students.
