2024 Türkiye Tax Champions

The 2024 Türkiye Tax Leaders list includes the individuals and entities with the highest income and corporate tax liabilities as announced by the Revenue Administration. Based on the evaluation of annual tax returns for the 2024 taxation period, the 100 taxpayers who paid the most tax nationwide were identified and made public on August 20, 2025.

Income Tax Leaders

Top Rankings

In the 2024 income tax leaders list, Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of the Board of Baykar, ranked first. A tax liability of 2 billion 767 million 587 thousand 718 lira was assessed on Bayraktar. Haluk Bayraktar, General Manager of Baykar, ranked second with a tax liability of 2 billion 528 million 619 thousand 921 lira. Consequently, the total income tax paid by Selçuk and Haluk Bayraktar amounted to 5 billion 296 million lira.

Selçuk and Haluk Bayraktar have been the top income tax payers consecutively from 2021 to 2024, during which their total tax payments increased by approximately 18 times. This growth was primarily driven by Baykar’s export revenues, with 90% of the company’s 2024 turnover generated from exports. In the same year, Baykar achieved 1.8 billion dollars in exports, marking the second consecutive year it entered Türkiye’s top 10 export companies.

Names in the Top 20

The identity of the third-ranked taxpayer was not disclosed. Mustafa Rahmi Koç, Honorary Chairman of Koç Holding, ranked fourth with a tax liability of 757 million 755 thousand 302 lira. Erman Ilıcak, Honorary Chairman of Rönesans Holding, ranked tenth with a tax liability of 372 million 720 thousand 505 lira. Additionally, Mehmet Ömer Koç from the Koç family ranked twelfth with a tax liability of 356 million 169 thousand 109 lira.

In 2024, a total of 5 million 132 thousand 895 taxpayers filed income tax returns nationwide. The total declared taxable base amounted to 1 trillion 407 billion 889 million 486 thousand 11 lira, with total assessed income tax reaching 418 billion 465 million 820 thousand 799 lira.

On average, each taxpayer declared a taxable base of 274 thousand 288 lira, resulting in an average tax liability of 81 thousand 526 lira.

In terms of provincial distribution of income tax leaders, Istanbul ranked first with 75 taxpayers. Istanbul was followed by Ankara (10), İzmir (6), Gaziantep (5), Eskişehir (2), Bursa (1), and Karabük (1).

In the 2024 corporate tax leaders list, Türkiye Garanti Bankası A.Ş. ranked first, with a corporate tax liability of 25.296.492.625,93 TL. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Ziraat Bankası A.Ş. ranked second, with a tax liability of 20.838.196.304,74 TL. Kuveyt Türk Katılım Bankası A.Ş. ranked third, with a tax liability of 12.071.499.612,88 TL.

These were followed by Türkiye Elektrik İletim A.Ş. (10.520.812.175,69 TL, Ankara), Türkiye Vakıflar Bankası Türk A.O. On average, each institution declared a taxable base of 3 million 708 thousand 380 lira, resulting in an average corporate tax liability of 845 thousand 557 lira.

In terms of provincial distribution of corporate tax leaders, Istanbul ranked first with 78 institutions. Istanbul was followed by Ankara (15), İzmir (1), Antalya (1), Bursa (1), Kocaeli (1), Şanlıurfa (1), Balıkesir (1), and Bolu (1).
