61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour promotional meeting (AA)
The 61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour is an international road cycling race planned to take place between 26 April and 3 May 2026, coordinated by the Türkiye Cycling Federation, under the patronage of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye and with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports. This event, classified in the “ProSeries” category of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Europe Tour calendar, has been recorded as one of the largest sporting events held within Türkiye’s borders. The 2026 route has been mapped to begin in Çeşme district of İzmir Province, following the coastal strips of the Aegean and Mediterranean regions, then transitioning to the Central Anatolia Region and concluding in the capital city of Ankara.
The overall structure of the event is designed over 8 days and 8 stages, with the total race distance estimated between 1133.5 kilometers and 1201 kilometers according to various technical reports. Based on the prepared participant lists, 23 professional cycling teams representing 27 different countries and a total of 161 athletes have been confirmed to participate.
This race, the oldest in Türkiye’s road cycling discipline, was first established in 1963 through the initiative of federation officials under the name “Marmara Tour.” In 1965, it was adapted to an international format and acquired institutional status beginning in 1966 when it came under the patronage of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye. Throughout its history, the event has been conducted in special formats: in 1973 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Republic, between 1979 and 1982 under the title “Presidency of the State Cycling Tour,” and in 1981 to mark the 100th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s birth.
The modern technical classification of the event began in 2006 with its inclusion in the UCI calendar at the 2.2 category. It was upgraded to the 2.1 level in 2008 and further elevated to the 2.HC (Hors Catégorie) category in 2010. Between 2017 and 2019, the tour was part of the UCI WorldTour, the highest tier in global cycling. However, due to global pandemic conditions in 2020, the event was canceled. Starting in 2021, it resumed under UCI’s new classification system as a ProSeries (2.Pro) category race. In the 60th edition held in 2025, Dutch cyclist Wout Poels, racing under the XDS Astana team, won the general classification.
The official promotional and press briefing for the 61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour was held on 9 April 2026 at the Istanbul Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM). Attendees included Hasan Yıldırım, Director General of Presidential Security Affairs; Veli Ozan Çakır, President of the Turkish National Olympic Committee and Director General of Sports Services at the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Ünal Kılıçarslan, Deputy Governor of Istanbul; Abdullah Atakan Atasoy, District Governor of Beyoğlu; Muhittin Özbay, Director of Istanbul Youth and Sports Directorate; Emin Müftüoğlu, President of the Türkiye Cycling Federation; and representatives from relevant sponsor brands.

61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour promotional meeting (AA)
At the meeting, the 2026 event’s main theme was announced as “From Tradition to the Future,” with the intention of transferring the organization’s 60-year institutional memory to future generations. Strategic objectives communicated to the public by Türkiye Cycling Federation officials include: returning the tour to the highest tier, the UCI WorldTour, in coming years; promoting cycling among youth through projects with Yeşilay to steer them away from addictions; and developing new athletes capable of winning international medals in track, mountain, BMX and road cycling disciplines in line with Türkiye’s vision for the 2032 and 2036 Olympic Games. It was also noted that inter-institutional coordination, modeled after the successful security operations of the 2023 and 2024 editions, will ensure a seamless implementation this year.
The 2026 event route has been designed to cover five provincial centers, more than 20 districts, and approximately 60 settlements. Along the 8-day race course, 16 official sprint points and 9 climbing points have been strategically located, with total elevation gain projected to exceed 15,000 meters. While the physical geography spans the Aegean, Mediterranean and Central Anatolia regions, the decision to once again designate Ankara—previously the finish line five times between 1969 and 1979—as the final destination highlights a key historical and symbolic element of the event. The stage program and distance intervals, as officially announced by the organizing committee and mapping authorities, are as follows:
The opening stage runs from Çeşme to Selçuk/Aydın. According to various institutional documents, the distance of this stage has been reported as 148.7 km, 149 km, 153.1 km and 203.1 km.

Stage 1 (TourOfTürkiye)
This stage begins in the city center of Aydın and ends in Marmaris district of Muğla, with a planned distance between 152.8 km and 158 km.

Stage 2 (TourOfTürkiye)
This stage, scheduled between Marmaris and the settlement of Kıran, is anticipated by technical teams to be the first decisive break in the general classification. The stage length has been recorded as 132.7 km, 133.7 km and 134 km.

Stage 3 (TourOfTürkiye)
Starting in Marmaris and finishing in Fethiye district, this stage has been documented with distances of 130.4 km, 131 km and 131.4 km.

Stage 4 (TourOfTürkiye)
This stage, running from the ancient site of Patara to Kemer, is classified as the longest physical stage of the tour, with recorded distances ranging from 181.2 km to 196.7 km.

Stage 5 (TourOfTürkiye)
Beginning in Antalya and concluding at the summit of Feslikan Plateau at an altitude of 1850 meters, this stage has been designated the “Queen Stage” due to its steep gradients. Its length is estimated between 128.1 km and 131 km.

Stage 6 (TourOfTürkiye)
This is a closed-circuit urban stage held entirely within the boundaries of Antalya Province. The total distance has been measured between 149.5 km, 150 km and 156.1 km.

Stage 7 (TourOfTürkiye)
The closing stage is held in the capital city of Ankara. The route is designed around administrative and historical landmarks including the Presidency Complex, Beştepe and Anıtkabir, with distances planned between 105.1 km, 105.2 km and 108.4 km.

Stage 8 (TourOfTürkiye)
According to race regulations, cyclists are ranked in four distinct sub-classifications, and the leaders of each classification are required to wear distinctive colored jerseys throughout the event.
This jersey symbolizes the overall general classification leader, awarded to the cyclist who completes the entire race in the shortest cumulative time. Its design is inspired by the coastal colors of the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. The sponsorship rights for this jersey belong to Türk Telekom.

Turquoise jersey (TourOfTürkiye)
Awarded to the “Best Sprinter,” the cyclist who accumulates the highest points from sprint points located on flat sections. The jersey, representing sustainability and nature, is sponsored by Spor Toto.

Green jersey (TourOfTürkiye)
Worn by the leader of the “King of the Mountains” classification, awarded to cyclists who achieve the highest points by completing the most challenging climbs and ascents. This jersey is sponsored by Turkish Airlines.

Red jersey (TourOfTürkiye)
This jersey belongs to the leader of the “Türkiye’s Beauties” classification, awarded for points earned at special sprint points located at historical, cultural and natural sites along the route. The sponsorship activities for this jersey are conducted under the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) and GoTürkiye brand.

Under the regulations of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), participation of 23 professional teams from 11 countries has been approved for the 61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour. The international participation profile is categorized into three main groups based on the global ranking hierarchy of the teams:
The on-site operations of the event are managed through a massive logistical network involving over 1,000 personnel. The race convoy includes approximately 350 vehicles comprising officials, technical teams, medical staff and police units. Fully equipped mobile medical units have been integrated into the peloton to ensure the health and safety of participants. Security along the 1133.5-kilometer route is ensured through the coordinated deployment of thousands of police and gendarmerie personnel.
For television and digital broadcasting, a specialized production team of 80 members has been assembled, with two helicopters and one broadcast aircraft deployed for aerial coverage. The event’s broadcast network, developed in cooperation with international distributors such as ASO (Amaury Sport Organisation), is designed to reach approximately 700 million households across five continents, in 13 different languages and in 190 countries. Globally, 65 television channels, 28 digital platforms, three international news agencies and nearly 30 airline companies will broadcast event footage on their in-flight entertainment screens. Daily live broadcasts of at least two hours on Eurosport, TRT Spor and TRT Spor Yıldız channels are expected to reach a total broadcast duration of 631 hours. Printed and digital media content is projected to exceed 35,000 articles, generating over five billion views.
Beyond sporting competition, the 61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour serves as a functional mechanism to promote Türkiye’s potential in cycling tourism to European and global markets. Reports indicate that the European cycling tourism sector has reached a value of 52 billion euros and generates approximately 25 million tourist movements annually. Through the Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), 58 certified “Cycling-Friendly Accommodation Facilities” with a total capacity of 41,996 beds and 19,538 rooms across 16 cities in Türkiye, as well as over 200 cycling routes, have been presented to global audiences. Additionally, emphasis has been placed on promoting local routes integrated into the international EuroVelo 8 and EuroVelo 13 cycling networks.
As part of the event’s vision to leave a lasting sporting legacy, the “Cycling Park and Cycling School” project, to be launched under the leadership of the Türkiye Cycling Federation during the Ankara final stage on 3 May 2026, will be officially announced. The primary objective of this project is to embed cycling into the national education system to encourage children and youth, conduct data-driven talent scouting, and integrate professional cyclists into the system through Sports Training Centers (SEM) and Türkiye Olympic Preparation Centers (TOHM) to international standards. These infrastructure initiatives are positioned as the physical foundation of long-term development strategies aimed at Olympic success.

Representatives of the Turkish teams competing in the race also shared their strategies and preparation processes with the public. Yunus Emre Yılmaz of İstanbul Team stated that they aim to actively participate in breakaway groups. Ramazan Yılmaz from Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club explained that they managed the transition from track cycling to road cycling through mental training and will focus particularly on sprint stages.
Halil İbrahim Doğantur, speaking on behalf of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, said they completed a productive training camp in Marmaris, highlighted that despite being a newly formed team they possess strong climbers, and predicted that the tour would be particularly challenging due to the long ascents in the Kıran stage.
Mustafa Tekin from Spor Toto Cycling Team recalled finishing second in the general classification and the white jersey classification last year and declared that this year they aim for the top in both classifications. It was also announced that Samet Bulut from Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club has returned to competition in good form following sinus surgery.
Preparations for the stages to be held in Muğla in the coming days have also been completed. Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık stated that the Aydın-Marmaris, Marmaris-Kıran and Marmaris-Fethiye stages will take place within the city limits. He emphasized that the 132.7-kilometre Marmaris-Kıran stage on 28 April, featuring a 908-metre ascent, will serve as the first decisive point in the general classification. Akbıyık confirmed that all necessary measures have been taken regarding infrastructure, security and health for the event.

Çeşme-Selçuk Stage (Stage 1) (AA)
The first stage of the 61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour began at 10:50 on Sunday, 26 April 2026, in front of Çeşme Castle, with the participation of protocol members. At the start ceremony, Veli Ozan Çakır, General Director of Sports Services at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, İzmir Governor Süleyman Elban, Members of Parliament Ceyda Bölünmez Çankırı and Tamer Osmanağaoğlu, and various federation officials were present.
The stage covered a total distance of approximately 154.7 kilometres, consisting of a 148.7-kilometre main route and a 6-kilometre neutralized (controlled) section. After the completion of the neutralized section, the official start was given at 10:59 when race director Mutlu Erçevik waved the checkered flag, signaling the beginning of the race for 158 cyclists.

Çeşme-Selçuk Stage (Stage 1) (AA)
Shortly after the start, a breakaway group of five cyclists separated from the main peloton at the 7-kilometre mark. The group consisted of Mewael Girmay from Team İstanbul, Ahmet Akpınar from Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, Kaan Özkalbim from Spor Toto, Michal Pomorski from ATT Investments, and Halil Doğan from Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club.
Despite hot weather conditions, the breakaway group increased its pace, causing the time gap between it and the main group to rise to one minute by the 15th kilometre and exceed four minutes in subsequent sections. The presence of Astana team, which includes notable general classification contenders such as Nicolas Vinokurov, Matteo Scalco and Henok Mulubrahan, drew particular attention within the peloton.
Throughout the stage, cyclists passed through three different prime checkpoints.
As the stage entered its final sections, the peloton increased its pace while the breakaway group’s performance declined, causing the time gap to rapidly diminish. The gap had narrowed to 1 minute 33 seconds with 28 kilometres remaining and to 20 seconds with 15 kilometres to go. It was completely closed with seven kilometres left, as the peloton caught the breakaway group.
The peloton arrived en masse at the finish line in front of Selçuk Castle. In the resulting sprint finish, Belgian cyclist Tom Crabbe of Team Flanders-Baloise won Stage 1 with a time of 3 hours 23 minutes 57 seconds. Simon Dehairs of Alpecin-Premier Tech finished second, and Italian Davide Persico of MBH Bank Ballan CSB came in third. Ramazan Yılmaz, national athlete of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, finished fourth by a wheel’s length, earning 12 points and achieving a significant result.

Çeşme-Selçuk Stage (Stage 1) (AA)
At the post-stage press conference, stage winner Tom Crabbe stated that this was his first race in Türkiye and that this victory held special significance for him. He noted that he had never experienced such weather conditions in Belgium and emphasized that the race was very hot. He recalled that his previous sprint wins in the Etoile de Besseges and Vuelta a Andalucia races occurred on slight uphill gradients, but expressed his satisfaction at winning this sprint on a flat course in Çeşme-Selçuk. The cyclist said he relied on instinct in the final 100 metres to find a gap and stressed his ambitions for the coming days.
Following the stage, an award ceremony was held to present jerseys to the classification leaders.
According to the event schedule, on the second day of the race, cyclists will compete in the 162.8-kilometre Aydın-Marmaris stage.

The Marmaris-Kıran stage, constituting the third stage of the 61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour, was held on 28 April 2026 within the boundaries of Muğla Province. This stage, part of the Union Cycliste Internationale’s (UCI) ProSeries category, covered a total distance of 132.7 kilometres along a route extending toward the Datça Peninsula and culminating at its summit.

Marmaris-Kıran Stage (Stage 3) (AA)
The race start was designated at Atatürk Square in the district of Marmaris. Cyclists traversed the 132.7-kilometre course through various segments. According to mapping data, riders passed through feeding zones at the 41.2nd and 93.4th kilometres. A climb classified as HC—the highest difficulty category—was located at the 61.4th kilometre, while a sprint zone was positioned at the 92.5th kilometre. The stage finish was set at the summit of the Kıran climb, featuring a distance of 8.7 kilometres and an average gradient of 9.7 percent.

Marmaris-Kıran Stage (Stage 3) (AA)
Historical records indicate that the Marmaris region has served as a start location for the tour on twenty-six occasions, including this stage. Only four of these races concluded with a summit finish: the Meryemana stages in 2017 and 2018, and the Kıran stages in 2025 and 2026.
The Kıran location was first incorporated into the race route in 2025, when Wout Poels won that stage and also claimed the overall general classification. According to data from the statistics platform Strava, Abel Balderstone of the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA team holds the record for the fastest ascent of the 9.7 percent gradient Kıran climb, completing it in 31 minutes and 27 seconds.
The official start of the stage was declared by a delegation comprising Muğla Deputy Governor Halil Serdar Cevheroğlu, Marmaris District Governor Nurullah Kaya, and Muğla Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Musa Kazım Açıkbaş. Among the designated intermediate checkpoints, Mustafa Tarakçı of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club was the first to pass the “Turkey’s Beauties” prime zone. Rudolf Remkhi, a cyclist representing Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, secured first place in both the sprint and climb zones along the course.

Marmaris-Kıran Stage (Stage 3) (AA)
The winner of the third stage, which concluded with a summit finish, was Colombian cyclist Ivan Ramiro Sosa, competing for Equipo Kern Pharma. Sosa completed the race distance in 3 hours 40 minutes and 25 seconds to claim first place. Sebastian Berwick of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, an Australian rider, finished second, 9 seconds behind the leader.
Third place went to French cyclist Nicolas Breuillard of TotalEnergies, who crossed the line 15 seconds after the winner. Other riders finishing within the top ten, along with their time gaps, were: Alessandro Fancellu (+26), Kamiel Bonneu (+30), Nicolya Vinokurov (+40), Matteo Scalco (+53), Henok Mulueberhan (+53), Jordan Jegat (+55), and Mikel Bizkarra (+57).
Following the conclusion of this stage, changes occurred in the general classification standings. Stage winner Ivan Ramiro Sosa ascended to first place in the overall classification with a cumulative time of 10 hours 39 minutes and 44 seconds, becoming the new wearer of the turquoise jersey. Sosa also assumed the lead in the mountains classification, taking over the red jersey. In the general classification, Sebastian Berwick trailed Sosa by 13 seconds, while Nicolas Breuillard was 21 seconds behind. In other classifications, Belgian cyclist Tom Crabbe of Team Flanders-Baloise retained the green jersey, and Polish rider Michal Pomorski of ATT Investments continued to wear the white jersey.
Following the completion of the race, an official award ceremony was held at the finish line in the Kıran region. The jerseys were presented to the top finishers by a protocol delegation comprising Muğla Deputy Governor Murat Kahraman, Menteşe District Governor Mehmet Eriş, Menteşe Mayor Gonca Köksal, Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu, and other officials.

Marmaris-Kıran Stage (Stage 3) (AA)
Ivan Ramiro Sosa, winner of the stage, spoke at a press conference following the race, highlighting the significance of his victory after a three-year absence from competition due to vascular surgery. He dedicated his success to his family and team. Sosa noted the high temperatures and the length of the course, explaining that he adopted a strategy to launch his attack with five kilometres remaining due to the difficulty of the final section. He emphasized that sustained power control during prolonged climbs would be the key factor in determining time gaps in upcoming mountain stages.
The tour is scheduled to continue with its fourth stage, a 130.4-kilometre route starting in Marmaris, passing through Gökova and Ölüdeniz, and finishing in Fethiye.

The Marmaris-Fethiye stage of the 61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour (TUR 2026) was held on 29 April 2026. This stage, part of the UCI Europe Tour with ProSeries status, covered a distance of 130.4 kilometers. It is regarded as one of the tour’s most essential and strategically significant routes, as cyclists faced challenging wind conditions and a undulating terrain.

Marmaris-Fethiye Stage (Stage 4) (AA)
The race started at Marmaris Atatürk Square and followed a route passing through the Gökova and Göcek bays, including significant geographical landmarks such as Ölüdeniz, before concluding in Fethiye. The bidirectional Marmaris-Fethiye and Fethiye-Marmaris route has over the years become a classic, gaining prestige due to its demanding transitions.
According to historical records, Fethiye was first included in the tour in 1987 and has hosted the finish of this stage for the twelfth time overall. Marmaris-Fethiye stages were first contested in 2000. Records also note that the last Turkish cyclist to win a stage finish in Fethiye was Nevzat Kıral, who triumphed in 2002; since then, no Turkish rider has secured victory at a Fethiye finish.
The start of the stage was signaled by a high-level protocol delegation including Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras, Marmaris District Governor Nurullah Kaya, and President of the Türkiye Cycling Federation Emin Müftüoğlu. Prior to the fourth stage, Colombian rider Ivan Ramiro Sosa of Equipo Kern Pharma wore the turquoise jersey symbolizing the general classification lead and the red jersey signifying the mountains classification lead. Belgian Tom Crabbe of Team Flanders-Baloise wore the green jersey for the best sprinter, while Polish Michal Pomorski of ATT Investments wore the white jersey for the best young rider. A total of 155 riders from 23 teams participated in the race; however, Juan Martinez of Picnic-PostNL, a general classification contender who suffered a crash in the previous stage, did not start this leg.

Turkish riders Burak Abay of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports and Ahmet Örken of Spor Toto started the race in 36th and 62nd positions respectively in the general classification. Notably, national cyclist Ramazan Yılmaz, who had previously finished fourth in earlier stages and was aiming for the overall podium, also drew attention for his strong performance on behalf of Turkish cycling.
The 19th and 25th kilometer markers were passed collectively by the main peloton without any splits occurring. With the wind blowing from behind, the group’s speed reached up to 60 kilometers per hour in sections. After the first hour, the average speed was recorded at 52 kilometers per hour. At the 35th kilometer, Doğukan Arıkan of Spor Toto broke away from the peloton in a solo breakaway attempt, opening a gap of up to 10 seconds before being reabsorbed shortly thereafter. By the 64th kilometer, a seven-rider breakaway group had formed consisting of Awet Aman, Muhammed Erkan, Samet Bulut, Feritcan Şamlı, Mustafa Tekin, Jonah Killy, and Dario Belletta. After Belletta dropped out of the group, the remaining six riders continued, extending their lead over the peloton to 2 minutes and 25 seconds.

Marmaris-Fethiye Stage (Stage 4) (AA)
Three distinct prize sprints were contested during the stage, determining the holders of the relevant jerseys. At the 57.9-kilometer mark, the Türkiye Güzellikleri sprint was won by Mustafa Tarakçı of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports, followed by Michal Pomorski and Tobiazs Pawlak. This result granted Mustafa Tarakçı the right to wear the white jersey in the next stage. At the 77.6-kilometer sprint point, Feritcan Şamlı of Spor Toto finished first, Samet Bulut of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Sports came second, and Muhammed Erkan of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports placed third. At the Category 3 climb at the 93.9-kilometer mark, Mustafa Tekin of Spor Toto crossed the line first, followed by Awet Aman of İstanbul Takımı and Sergio Samitier of Cofidis. After completing the climb, the breakaway group was caught by the main peloton and the two groups merged.
As the stage entered its final kilometers, Cofidis team set a high tempo during the climb, starting 30 kilometers from the finish, to position their sprinter Stanislaw Aniolkowski advantageously. In the final meters of the sprint finish, Polish rider Stanislaw Aniolkowski won the stage with a time of 2 hours 52 minutes and 50 seconds. Canadian Riley Pickrell of Modern Adventure Pro Cycling finished second, while Italian Davide Persico of MBH Bank Ballan CSB Telecom Fort took third place. This victory marked Aniolkowski’s first stage win at the Pro level in his professional career. Later in the race, Serdar Anıl Depe of Spor Toto suffered a crash and withdrew from the competition after being diagnosed with a fractured right clavicle.

Marmaris-Fethiye Stage (Stage 4) (AA)
There was no change in the general classification after Stage 4. Ivan Ramiro Sosa retained both the turquoise and red jerseys with a total time of 13 hours 32 minutes and 34 seconds. Sebastian Berwick of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA remained second, 13 seconds behind, while Nicolas Breuillard of Totalenergies held third place, 21 seconds behind. Tom Crabbe retained the green jersey, while Mustafa Tarakçı became the new wearer of the white jersey.
Following the completion of the stage, an award ceremony was held at the finish line. The podium finishers and jersey winners received their awards and jerseys from a protocol delegation including Fethiye District Governor Fatih Akkaya, Seydikemer District Governor Mustafa Dilekli, Fethiye Mayor Alim Karaca, and representatives of the Türkiye Cycling Federation. It was announced that the next stage, the fifth, would be the longest of the 61st tour, covering 180.7 kilometers between the ancient city of Patara and Kemer.

The fifth stage of the 61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour (TUR 2026), part of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) Europe Tour calendar and Türkiye’s only event in the ProSeries category, took place on 30 April 2026. This stage, the longest in the race, was held within the boundaries of Antalya Province and concluded with a mass sprint finish. The route was designed around themes of history and nature, featuring variable elevation profiles and climbing sections.

Patara-Kemer Stage (Stage 5)(AA)
The fifth stage of the tour covered a distance of 180.7 kilometers, starting at the ancient city of Patara and finishing in the district of Kemer. This distance made it the longest stage of the race. Throughout the stage, riders passed through Kaputaş, Kaş, Demre and Finike before reaching the finish line in Kemer. A total of 155 professional cyclists representing 23 different teams competed in this stage, which combined coastal stretches with key climbing zones.
The start ceremony was held at the historic Patara Ancient City with the participation of protocol officials. Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin, Kaş Mayor Erol Demirhan and Antalya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Yavuz Gürhan attended the event. Prior to the start signal, protocol members unfurled a banner reading "The sea is always clean in Antalya" to draw attention to the upcoming 31st Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP31), scheduled to be held in Antalya. Before the race began, Colombian rider Ivan Ramiro Sosa wore the turquoise jersey symbolizing the general classification leader, while Belgian rider Tom Crabbe wore the green jersey indicating the sprint classification leader. The white jersey representing the Türkiye Beauties classification was worn by Turkish cyclist Mustafa Tarakcı.

Patara-Kemer Stage (Stage 5)(AA)
The finish in Kemer, after more than four hours of racing, was decided by a sprint finish. Dutch cyclist Casper van Uden, riding for Team Picnic PostNL, won the stage with a time of 4 hours 6 minutes and 9 seconds. Marcin Budzinski of Poland from MBH Bank Ballan CSB Telecom Fort finished second, matching the winner’s time, while Uzbekistan’s Nikita Tsvetkov from Bardiani CSF 7 Saber took third place.

Ivan Ramiro Sosa of Equipo Kern Pharma retained the general classification lead with a total time of 17 hours 38 minutes and 43 seconds, along with the turquoise jersey. Sosa also maintained the red jersey, symbolizing the King of the Mountains title, after earning 15 points from the mountain climbs. In the general classification, Sosa was followed by Sebastian Berwick (Caja Rural-Seguros Rga) in second place, 13 seconds behind, Nicolas Breuillard (Totalenergies) in third, 21 seconds behind, and A. Fancellu in fourth, 34 seconds behind.

Patara-Kemer Stage (Stage 5)(AA)
In the other classifications, the standings remained unchanged. The green jersey, awarded based on points accumulated at sprint zones, was retained by Tom Crabbe of Team Flanders-Baloise. The white jersey, awarded based on points earned at Türkiye Beauties checkpoints, was held by Mustafa Tarakcı of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club.
After the conclusion of the fifth stage, the race organization shifted its focus to the 127.9-kilometer Antalya-Feslikan "queen stage" (Stage 6), which features long climbs and will directly impact the general classification.

Antalya-Feslikan Stage (Stage 6) (AA)
The stage, held on 1 May 2026, began on Konyaaltı Street in the city of Antalya. Attendance at the start ceremony included Antalya Deputy Governor Tahsin Aksu and Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu. In his briefing, Federation President Müftüoğlu noted that the route passed through Antalya’s high-altitude plateaus, that the race generally proceeded successfully, and that public participation in the organization was substantial. This stage, culminating in a summit finish, presented a route that emphasized both physical endurance and climbing strategy for the riders.

Antalya-Feslikan Stage (Stage 6) (AA)
Italian rider Christian Bagatin, competing for the MBH Bank Ballan CSB Telecom Fort team, won the challenging 127.9-kilometre route from Antalya to Feslikan, finishing in first place. Bagatin completed the queen stage in 3 hours 23 minutes and 12 seconds to claim victory in the sixth stage.
Australian cyclist Sebastian Berwick of Caja Rural-Seguros RGA finished second on the podium, while Jordan Jegat of Team TotalEnergies placed third.
With the completion of Stage 6, significant changes occurred in the general classification and jersey standings. Australian cyclist Sebastian Berwick, who finished second in the stage, moved ahead of Colombian rider Ivan Ramiro Sosa by five seconds in the overall standings and assumed the turquoise jersey as race leader. Additionally, due to his strong climbing performance, Berwick also took the lead in the mountains classification and became the wearer of the red jersey, symbolizing the King of the Mountains. Although official records list Sebastian Berwick as the red jersey holder, according to regulations, the red jersey was worn during the race by Colombian cyclist Ivan Ramiro Sosa of Equipo Kern Pharma.

Antalya-Feslikan Stage (Stage 6) (AA)
In other classifications, current leaders retained their positions. The green jersey, awarded to the best sprinter, remained with Belgian rider Tom Crabbe of Team Flanders-Baloise. The white jersey, signifying the leader of the Turkey Beauty classification, remained with Mustafa Tarakcı, competing for Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club.
Following this demanding climbing stage, the tour will continue with the seventh stage on the following day, a 152.8-kilometre route starting and finishing in Antalya. Due to its urban character, the seventh stage is expected to feature a high pace and a high probability of a mass sprint finish.
The seventh stage of the Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour, the 61st edition of which was organized in 2026 and is part of the UCI ProSeries calendar, was held entirely within the boundaries of Antalya. The 152.8-kilometre route was designed so that riders departed from and returned to the same city. This technical stage was marked by intense competition among general classification contenders separated by mere seconds and several jersey leadership changes. The stage concluded with an overall sprint finish won by Italian rider Davide Ballerini of XDS Astana. Unfavorable weather conditions that emerged immediately after the stage affected the riders following their completion of the course.

Antalya-Antalya Stage (Stage 7) (AA)
A total of 147 cyclists participated in the Antalya-Antalya stage following the previous day’s climbing stage. At the official start ceremony, Antalya Deputy Governor Tahsin Aksu, Antalya Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Yavuz Gürhan, Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu, along with local administrators and federation board members, were present on the podium. Rainfall in the early morning created wet conditions on the course, posing technical risks for the riders. The race committee issued a warning that the stage could be halted in certain sections for safety reasons, but as weather conditions partially improved, the normal start procedure was implemented. Immediately after the start, three cyclists crashed due to the wet surface, causing the main group (peloton) to split into two sections.
By the 15th kilometre, a breakaway group had formed from the peloton, including Antonio Polga and Filippo Ridolfo of Novo Nordisk, Matteo Turconi of Bardiani, Mehmet Kanat of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, and Michal Pomorski of ATT. Later, Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club rider Mustafa Tarakçı joined the breakaway, with the time gap between the group and the peloton measuring 1 minute 10 seconds. By the 42nd kilometre, the five riders in the breakaway extended their lead to two minutes over the peloton.

Antalya-Antalya Stage (Stage 7) (AA)
To protect his position as overall leader, Sebastian Berwick of Caja Rural, supported by his teammates, implemented a tempo-setting strategy at the front of the peloton. As a result, by the 50th kilometre, the time gap between the breakaway and the peloton had reduced to 1 minute 35 seconds. As the breakaway’s pace slowed and the peloton maintained steady pursuit, the gap narrowed to 50 seconds and by the 70th kilometre, the breakaway was caught, reuniting the peloton into a single group.
Throughout the route, riders competed for points at various sprint and climbing checkpoints. At the 33.2-kilometre mark, the sprint checkpoint for the Turkey Beauty (White Jersey) classification was passed first by Mustafa Tarakçı, followed by Michal Pomorski in second and Kaan Özkalbim of Spor Toto in third. After this checkpoint, Tarakçı rejoined the main group.
At the intermediate sprint checkpoint at the 75.1-kilometre mark, Piotr Pekala of ATT claimed first place, followed by Talha Tektaş of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club and Doğukan Arıkan of Spor Toto. From this point, the group accelerated and established a one-minute gap over the peloton. At the stage’s final climbing checkpoint, which awarded points for the Red Jersey (King of the Mountains) classification, Talha Tektaş finished first, Axandre Van Petegem of Tartelotto came second, and Piotr Pekala placed third. After the climb, it was observed that Ahmet Örken had joined the breakaway group, but all riders were caught by the peloton within the final four kilometres, leading to a mass sprint finish.
The final section of the 152.8-kilometre stage featured a mass sprint finish. Italian rider Davide Ballerini of XDS Astana won the stage with a time of 3 hours 19 minutes and 41 seconds. After the race, Ballerini stated that he remained in constant communication with his team car regarding ground conditions, adopted a cautious strategy to avoid risks ahead of the Italian Tour, and seized an opening after the final corner to launch his winning attack.

Antalya-Antalya Stage (Stage 7) (AA)
Polish cyclist Marceli Boguslawski of ATT Investments finished second, while Belgian Tom Crabbe of Team Flanders-Baloise placed third. Mustafa Tarakçı, the national rider of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, crossed the finish line in fourth place, just a wheel’s length behind the podium.
With the completion of Stage 7, the holders of the prestigious jerseys were determined and presented during an official ceremony.

Antalya-Antalya Stage (Stage 7) (AA)
Italian and Dutch media covering Stage 7 shared insights on the race’s structure and technical features. Published reports noted that the addition of two new summit finishes to the TUR 2026 route diversified the general classification competition and created multiple opportunities for climbers.
Additionally, international media highlighted that the length and variety of stages increased the event’s difficulty, and that the scenic natural landscapes along the route contributed to high spectator turnout.
Following the completion of Stage 7 in Antalya, the tour caravan moved to Ankara for the final stage. The eighth and concluding stage of the 1.153-kilometre tour will be a criterium race on an Ankara-Ankara route. For the first time since 1999, the tour will conclude in the capital, with the stage taking place on a circuit around Anıtkabir and the Presidency Complex, officially marking the end of the tour.
The eighth and final stage of the 61st Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour took place on 3 May 2026 in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye, concluding the event. With this stage, the cycling tour ended in Ankara for the first time in 27 years since its last occurrence in 1999. The race was broadcast live on national and international sports channels, reaching a wide audience. Various sources recorded the stage distance as 105.2 kilometres, 105.7 kilometres, or 108.4 kilometres.

Ankara-Ankara Stage (Stage 8) (AA)
For the first time in tour history, the Ankara stage began in front of the Presidency Complex in Beştepe and concluded at the same location. After the neutral start was given in front of the complex, the official start of the stage, attended by 147 cyclists, was held at the site in front of Anıtkabir.
The start ceremony was attended by Vice President of the Republic Cevdet Yılmaz, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Hamza Yerlikaya, Turkish Cycling Federation President Emin Müftüoğlu, provincial authorities, and numerous state and federation officials. Prior to the start, a special plaque was presented to national cyclist Ahmet Örken, who participated in the Presidency of Türkiye Cycling Tour for the 13th time in his career.

Ankara-Ankara Stage (Stage 8) (AA)
The first 10 kilometres of the race were covered in a group ride by the peloton. At the 27.3-kilometre mark, the Turkey Beauty sprint checkpoint was passed first by Burak Abay of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club, followed by his teammate Ramazan Yılmaz in second place.
This strategic passage secured the white jersey for Mustafa Tarakçı of the same team.
Following this checkpoint, Arda Tekirdağ of Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Sports Club and Feritcan Şamlı of Spor Toto broke away from the peloton and formed a breakaway group, extending their lead to 50 seconds over the main group.
At the first sprint checkpoint at the 46.6-kilometre mark, Feritcan Şamlı earned five points for first place, Arda Tekirdağ earned three points for second, and Sean Flynn of Team Picnic PostNL earned one point for third. After this checkpoint, the breakaway group rejoined the peloton.
