

Ali Can Özcan’s life has been shaped by sports, which he began at a young age. Born on 29 June 2001 in Karabük, Özcan was introduced to taekwondo in early childhood and was guided toward the sport by his coach Fatih Arı. Thanks to consistent training and visible progress, he was quickly selected for the national team and began representing Türkiye at the international level. He has maintained his dedication to sports over the years, achieving significant success in national and international competitions. Özcan continues his active sporting career and remains committed to representing his country in various championships.
Ali Can Özcan was born on 29 June 2001 in Karabük. He completed his primary education at TOKİ Cevizkent Primary School, his secondary education at Yenişehir Atatürk Middle School, and his high school education at 75th Year Anatolian High School. His interest in sports began in childhood and was shaped under the guidance of coach Fatih Arı in taekwondo. Özcan is currently pursuing his undergraduate studies in Coaching Education at the Faculty of Sports Sciences, Ankara University.
Ali Can Özcan began his taekwondo training in 2009 under coach Fatih Arı. He quickly gained recognition for his achievements and was selected for the national team in 2017. That same year, he won a bronze medal at the Para Taekwondo World Championship in London, marking his debut on the international stage representing Türkiye.
In 2024, at the Summer Paralympic Games in Paris, he won a silver medal in the men’s K44 58 kg category, achieving a major milestone. With this result, he joined the pioneering athletes who have brought medals to Türkiye in Paralympic taekwondo.
Özcan began his sporting career under coach Fatih Arı and continues his active club career in Ankara. Competing for various local clubs, he distinguished himself through individual performances and rose to the national team level. Özcan currently continues his training based in Ankara and represents Türkiye in international competitions.
