Bursa Technical University (BTÜ) is a public university located in the city of Bursa in Türkiye, specializing particularly in technical fields. It was established to meet the needs of Bursa, one of Türkiye’s leading industrial and technological cities, to develop qualified human resources, and to contribute to the country’s development through scientific research. BTÜ adopts an educational approach that aims to provide students not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical experience.
History
Bursa Technical University was established by Law No. 6005, published in the Official Gazette No. 27647 on 21 July 2010. Its founding purpose was to train engineers, architects and technical personnel needed by Bursa—a leading city in industry and technology in Türkiye—and to conduct scientific research. The university began its educational activities in the 2011–2012 academic year by admitting its first students. It rapidly expanded, increasing the number of faculties and departments and establishing research laboratories and application centers.
