Esenyurt Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Education Complex

Esenyurt Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Eğitim Külliyesi is located in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul as Türkiye’s largest secondary education campus place. Built to strengthen Istanbul’s educational infrastructure the complex was inaugurated on 3 February 2025 with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Physical Structure and Facilities

The complex has a total capacity of 345 classrooms and houses various educational institutions:

• 4 Vocational High Schools
• 1 Science High School
• 1 Vocational and Anadolu High School
• 1 Imam Hatip High School
• 1 Sports High School
• 1 Science and Art Center
• 1 Special Education Practice School

In addition the complex includes various facilities supporting education and social life:

• 88 laboratories (physics chemistry biology and computer laboratories)
• A 500-seat library
• 2 indoor sports halls
• 8 basketball courts
• 2 artificial grass football fields
• Two 1000-seat conference halls
• Art workshops and practical classrooms
• Dormitory buildings (total capacity of 302 students with separate male and female dormitories)
• A 600-seat prayer hall
• Indoor and outdoor parking areas

Science Technology and Research Areas

Planetarium

Esenyurt Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Eğitim Külliyesi hosts Türkiye’s largest planetarium house. The planetarium with a capacity of 147 people provides education in space sciences and astronomy. It features a 350 square meter seating area supported by a space observation tower. The aim is to provide students with hands-on experience in astronomy and space science.

STEM Laboratories and Workshops

The complex includes STEM laboratories and practical workshops designed to support science and engineering education. These areas are structured to enable students to learn through hands-on experimentation.

Educational Policy and Objectives

The complex has been designed not only to enhance students’ academic achievement but also to support their development in science art and sports. Its physical infrastructure features innovative design and is equipped with technological tools that provide opportunities for research and project development.

Inauguration Ceremony

The inauguration ceremony took place on 3 February 2025. In addition to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attendees included Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak Istanbul Governor Davut Gül AK Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Osman Nuri Kabaktepe several members of parliament and educators. During the ceremony it was emphasized that the complex would contribute significantly to the national education system and Türkiye’s educational policies.

Location and Transportation

Esenyurt Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Eğitim Külliyesi is located in Gazi Neighborhood on Atatürk Boulevard in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul Orhan. It has been strategically positioned to facilitate access for students and teachers through connections to public transportation routes and environment roads.
