Evidence (Book)

Evidence, Anadolu Agency (AA) published a book documenting the war crimes committed by Israel in the Gaza Gaza Strip. It contains photographs and information with evidentiary value under international law. The first edition was published on 4 December 2023.

Work presents visual material documenting the crimes committed by Israel during its offensive that began on 7 October 2023. It has been prepared in Turkish, English and Arabic. The expanded ninth edition was released digitally on 3 March 2025.,

Evidence is a documentary-style work that examines Israel’s attacks in Gaza, accompanied by photographs and descriptions. The book features on-the-ground images captured by Anadolu Ajansı reporters, documenting attacks on hospitals, schools, places of worship, infrastructure facilities and civilian settlements. The book, which reveals actions violating international law, also includes photographs related to the use of white phosphorus, prohibited under the United Nations Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons.

The book contains statistics on civilians killed as a result of Israel’s attacks, analyses of the war’s impact on the region and detailed examinations of specific incidents. Each image is supported by metadata, including the photographer’s name and explanatory captions, to document the events they depict. The book also includes before-and-after comparisons of attacks on Palestinian civilians displaced from their homes in the Welfare region.

Evidence has been assessed as a document providing evidentiary value within the framework of international law. It contextualizes acts defined as war crimes under the Rome Statute and contributes to their use as evidence in cases before the International Criminal Court (ICC) and other international legal mechanisms.

AA Board Chairman and General Manager Serdar Karagöz stated that the work has been used as evidence in cases brought against the Israeli government at the International Criminal Court.

Evidence was first published in print in 2023. As of 3 March 2025, its expanded ninth edition has been made available digitally. The updated digital version is accessible at "https://aakitap.com.tr/kanit". The website is available in Turkish, English and Arabic.

The book has also been adapted into a documentary format by Anadolu Ajansı and screened in various countries. The documentary has been shown at the Orta East Institute Film Center, in 50 cities across USA, at the UK Parliament in London and in Qatar.
