Fatih Ürek is a Turkish singer and television presenter, born on April 3, 1967, in Türkiye. He has worked in the fields of music and television. Born in Erzurum, Ürek became involved in music from his youth and gained public recognition throughout his career through stage performances, albums, and television programs. He has appeared as a host on various television programs in different formats and has also engaged in acting and theater work.

Youth and Career

At the age of one, he moved with his family to Bursa, where he spent his childhood and educational years. At 15, he joined the extra cast of the Bursa State Theatre and continued his theater work until approximately the age of 20.

After leaving theater, he decided to pursue a career as a vocal artist and moved to Istanbul, making his stage debut at Taylan Gazinosu. He began his music career with the release of his album "Yaktı Yaktı" in 1993. His 1995 album "Sen İki Gözümsün" featured pop music pieces as well as works from the Classical Turkish Music repertoire.

In 1997, he portrayed the character Fred Çakmaktaş in the television program "Reyting Hamdi". He has appeared in television series and film projects such as Ruhsar, Neredesin Firuze, Şeytanın Pabucu, Jet Sosyete, and Menajerimi Ara.

With the release of his album "Sus" in 2008, he re-entered the music charts after a 13-year hiatus. The songs "Hadi Hadi" and "Sus" from this album attracted significant attention. In 2011, he appeared in a commercial film. From 2018 to 2020, he hosted the cooking competition show "Gelinim Mutfakta" on Kanal D. Between 2019 and 2020, he served as a judge on the competition program "Kuaförüm Sensin", and most recently, he hosted the competition show "Gelin Görümce" on the NOW channel.

Intensive Care and Death

Fatih Ürek was hospitalized on October 15, 2025, after suffering a heart attack while having breakfast at home. It was reported that his heart stopped for 20 minutes; following medical intervention, he was revived and placed in intensive care. His health condition remained critical throughout the approximately 3.5-month treatment period, during which updates were shared with the public via his social media accounts. He was placed in a medically induced coma.

The artist passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the age of 59, in the hospital in Istanbul where he was receiving treatment.

His manager, Mert Siliv, who was present during his final moments, stated that he gave Fatih Ürek Zamzam water and washed his face. Following the artist’s death, Siliv called for prayers.^【1】

Fatih Ürek’s funeral will be held on Sunday, February 1, 2026, after the afternoon prayer at İstanbul Levent Camii, followed by burial. Before the funeral, friends and admirers gathered outside the hospital to offer their condolences.
