Developed by Makine ve Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş. (MKE), the MMT (Modern Machine Gun) is an indigenous and nationally produced light machine gun designed to meet the needs of the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). This weapon was specifically developed to replace imported machine guns such as the MG3, M60, and PKM.
