Sadrettin Özçimi (1955, Konya) is an artist active in the fields of Turkish music and traditional arts. He has engaged in ney performance, ebru art, and rosary making. He served for many years with the Istanbul State Classical Turkish Music Choir and has participated in concerts and educational activities both within Türkiye and abroad.
Sadrettin Özçimi was born in Konya in 1955. His father, Fevzi Özçimi, was a student of Sadettin Kaynak and Münir Dede. Due to his family’s connection to music, he listened to records at home during his childhood and learned to read musical notation from his father. He began playing the ney at the age of sixteen and took his first lessons from Arif Biçer in Konya.
Istanbul Technical University State Conservatory’s Department of Basic Sciences was among the first cohort of students, and he graduated in 1979. During his conservatory studies, he received ney instruction from Aka Gündüz Kutbay and Niyazi Sayın.
Since 1971, he has performed as a neyzen at the Mevlâna Festivals held in Konya. In 1977, he joined the Istanbul State Classical Turkish Music Choir and served there until his retirement in 2020. Throughout his career, he gave concerts in various countries, including South Korea and the United Kingdom, at the invitation of UNESCO.
In 2001, he was awarded the “Best Turkish Music Artist” prize by the Turkish Writers’ Union.
Özçimi has been active as a performer and educator in the fields of ney performance and ebru art, conducting concerts, workshops, and educational programs to promote and transmit these art forms.
On the recommendation of Niyazi Sayın, he turned to ebru art, studied under Alparslan Babaoğlu, and received his certification in 1997. He has produced works within the classical ebru style and worked on a project depicting all 36 Ottoman sultans. He has also engaged in rosary making and produced works in this field.

Özçimi participated in the founding efforts of the Music Education Department at Selçuk University Faculty of Education. After retiring from the Istanbul State Classical Turkish Music Choir, he opened the Andelib Kahve Özçimi Art Workshop in Üsküdar, where he began teaching students across various disciplines. His work and educational activities continue through the students he has trained. He expressed his artistic philosophy within the framework of Sufi thought, emphasizing that art must be directed toward divine beauty.
