YILDIRIM-100

YILDIRIM-100 is a directed infrared countermeasure (DIRCM) system developed by ASELSAN. It is designed to protect platforms against heat-seeking missiles. This system is based on advanced electro-optical and laser technologies and features a dual-turret configuration. Each turret contains a precise tracking unit and a high-power laser unit. Thanks to this design, the system delivers an effective countermeasure by applying synchronized, multi-band laser signals to threat sources.

YILDIRIM-100 neutralizes heat-seeking missiles directed at airborne platforms by emitting multi-band laser energy that blinds and disrupts the missile’s seeker head, causing it to lose lock or veer off course. The system is fully compatible with UV/IR-based missile warning systems.

YILDIRIM-100 maintains effectiveness under various threat scenarios. Its high-precision threat detection capability, combined with rapid response time, provides full 360-degree protection to platforms. Thanks to its compact design, the system is characterized by low size and weight, as well as low power consumption and low life-cycle costs.

YILDIRIM-100 can operate in integration with other defense systems on the platform and offers particularly effective protection against MANPADS and heat-seeking missiles. Field tests of the system have been successfully completed. This system, which has elevated Türkiye to the forefront of laser-based countermeasure technology, delivers significant operational advantages.
