Eastern Express (Ankara–Kars)

Eastern Express is one of the mainline train services operated by TCDD Taşımacılık A.Ş., running daily in both directions between Ankara and Kars. Serving the route extending toward the eastern part of Türkiye, the train consists of pullman, covered couchette, and sleeping cars.

Route and Service Information

Starting from Ankara, the Eastern Express follows the route through Kırıkkale, Kayseri, Sivas, Erzincan, and Erzurum, reaching the province of Kars. The train stops at a total of 53 stations. Operating daily, these services are especially preferred by those who wish to undertake a long-distance and uninterrupted journey.

Types of Cars

There are three main types of cars on the Eastern Express, offering different levels of comfort:

• Pullman Car: Cars with standard seating arrangements.
• Covered Couchette Car: A couchette system consisting of compartments for four passengers where they can lie down.
• Sleeping Car: Each compartment includes two beds, a mini refrigerator, a washbasin, and a table. These cars cater to passengers who prefer a more comfortable journey.
