Limni Lake Nature Park is one of the important natural areas of Gümüşhane and the Eastern Black Sea Region with its natural landscape, biological diversity, cool climate and unique atmosphere . Location and Transportation
Limni Lake Nature Park is located within the borders of Zigana Village, Torul district of Gümüşhane . It is located at the foothills of Zigana Mountains, approximately 2025 meters above sea level. The park is 16 km from Torul district center, 40 km from Gümüşhane city center and approximately 60 km from Trabzon . It is an easily accessible nature stop for those passing between the Black Sea Coastal Road and Eastern Anatolia , as it is located very close to Zigana Pass. Transportation is provided by private vehicles and the route can be passed without any problems in the summer months. In the winter months, transportation can sometimes be difficult due to snow .
Natural Structure and Ecosystem
Limni Lake Nature Park takes its name from the small , shallow and natural crater lake it contains . The lake offers a natural landscape integrated with the dense forest area and mountain view around it . The area has a surface area of approximately 720 decares. The lake area is covered with spruce, Scots pine and hornbeam trees and is quite rich in terms of flora. More than 200 plant species have been identified in the region. In addition, wildlife such as squirrels, foxes, boars , wild rabbits and various bird species can be observed in the region. With this feature, Limni Lake is one of the important natural habitats of Gümüşhane.

Nature Park Status and Conservation Area
Lake Limni, which was granted the status of “Nature Park” by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in 2011, has become a special area with its natural beauty and ecological structure under protection. The density of visitors increases especially between July and September . In the winter months, transportation may be limited, so be prepared.
