During the conference statements were made regarding the current state of relations between the two countries new objectives and regional issues.


Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that relations between Turkey and Italy have reached a “four out of four” level and added “We are very pleased with the results of our work.” Meloni said “We have excellent relations between Italy and Turkey that will make us number one in the Mediterranean. We have broken records with our trade volume exceeding 30 billion dollars in 2024.” She emphasized that bilateral trade had increased by 28 percent and that the target had been achieved five years ahead of schedule.

An agreement was signed between the Ministry of Family and Social Services of the Republic of Türkiye and the Ministry for Persons with Disabilities of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Italy on “full social inclusion of persons with disabilities.”



During her bilateral meeting in Rome Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş emphasized the importance of cooperation between the two countries in social services and accessibility. Göktaş said “Through the agreements we have signed we will enhance the exchange of knowledge and experience particularly regarding the full social inclusion of persons with disabilities strengthening social services and developing inclusive policies.”
