Beyhan Budak was born in 1985 in Ankara. After completing his primary and secondary education in Ankara, he prioritized the field of psychology in his university preferences due to his interest in people and human behavior. He began his academic journey by being admitted to his first choice, the Department of Psychology at Istanbul University.

Youth and Education

During his four years at Istanbul University, he actively participated in numerous social projects and association activities, and supported his professional and personal development by attending various panels, seminars, and training programs. During this time, he gained practical experience through internships at institutions such as prep schools, daycare centers, rehabilitation facilities, and hospitals.

Career

Immediately after completing his university education, he began working with children and families at a private educational center in Ankara. He then started working at the General Directorate of the Turkish Electricity Distribution Corporation (TEDAŞ), but realizing that the position did not align with his professional goals, he left TEDAŞ. He subsequently worked for many years as a clinical psychologist at Dr. Zekai Tahir Burak Women’s Health Training and Research Hospital, which operates under the Ministry of Health. After his experiences there, he established his own clinic and continued his psychotherapy and counseling work in the private sector.

After completing his undergraduate education, Budak pursued graduate studies to advance his academic career, earning a master’s degree in Guidance and Psychological Counseling in 2011 and another in Clinical Psychology in 2016.

Budak has undertaken a variety of professional training programs to enhance his expertise. These include Schema Therapy Training and Supervision with Alp Karaosmanoğlu; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Training with Hakan Türkçapar; MMPI Training (by Sedat Işıklı) organized by the Turkish Psychological Association; Family Educator Training by the Ministry of Family and Social Policies; EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) training with Dilek Gürel; and the Family Counseling Certificate Program at Başkent University. He has also received professional training in areas such as the assessment and treatment of sexual dysfunctions, prevention of suicidal behavior in schools, solutions for violence against women, exam anxiety, and cognitive interventions.

Notable Work and Contributions

Budak actively uses digital platforms to share his professional knowledge and experience with a broader audience. He produces weekly videos on popular psychology and personal development topics on his YouTube channel. Through his podcast series, he offers suggestions on self-help and psychological support. In 2020, his podcast channel was named the most listened-to podcast in Türkiye by Spotify. Over the past decade, it has become the most listened-to podcast program in the country. His podcast episodes have been played approximately 25 million times to date.

He provides seminars and training sessions to many institutions and organizations on topics such as personal development, psychological resilience, effective communication, and motivation. Titles he covers in his seminars include “Strengthening Psychological Immunity in Difficult Times – Coping with Anxiety,” “Psychological Resilience in the Workplace,” “Inner Navigation: Discovering Personal Values,” “Staying Motivated in Changing Conditions,” “Effective Communication Techniques,” “Understanding and Relating to Difficult People,” “University is Never Enough!,” “How Do People Change and Not Change?,” and “Discover the Confidence Within.”

He has delivered these seminars and training sessions across a wide range of platforms, including corporate and public institutions, international organizations, municipalities, Ministry of Culture events, private companies, and academic congresses.
